The area is very impressive. It is in the middle of nowhere and we were the only ones there. Try how the acoustic works and see how the whisper travels from one side of the dam to another . There were some kangaroos nearby chilling...More

We stopped here as part of our Barossa Valley Wine Tour. I'd never heard of this place and it was great fun. Some of our group did the short walk across to the other side of the dam. What a surprise when we heard them...More

Yes it does work, even though I am hard of hearing I could hear my son's voice from the other end of the wall. Worth a visit. Lovely scenery to.

It's very rare to find something that is good fun for the entire family and at no charge. We took our grandchildren there today. They loved it and I would recommend the area to anyone with children or even friends with tourists

The dam was built according to acoustics rules. You just whisper at one end, while your friend can hear you very clearly at the other end. Those with little kids: do some homework before going, as your kids would definitely ask you why.

This place is amazing. Just a curved dam wall but able to stand on each side of the wall and talk to each other and hear very clearly. Well worth the effort to find as the signage is very poor. There is a picnic spot...More

We stopped off here on our journey between Adelaide and Tanunda as we'd been told it was worth a visit. We weren't disappointed. It was such a novel phenomenon.

You need to go down steps to the platform on either end of the wall if youi want to try out the 'whispering' part. But you should be able to cross over the top of the wall in a wheelchair
