Picturesque walk with evidence of past gold mining, western side is a bit rougher.

Spend a couple of hours doing the round walk. Very scenic. Late spring the kapok trees leave a... read more

We walked from our accommodation about 4K from Bright. It was an easy walk and crossed the Ovens River several times. Great rock formations.

Spend a couple of hours doing the round walk. Very scenic. Late spring the kapok trees leave a grove in the early part of the walk looking like it snowed. Evidence of changes to the river course through gold mining and many sluice channels cut...More

Though it would’ve been better wearing walking shoes instead of sandals, this was a pleasant walk with the dog next to the river. We love being able to walk straight from, then back to, our accommodation rather than having to drive somewhere first. A wander...More

A great route for a wander along the river Ovens, the first section being accessible by people with limited walking capacity, like me. There are explanatory displays giving information about the gold mining history. At the first suspension bridge one can cross the river to...More

We parked the car in Riverside Avenue and did the loop on the western side of the road bridge. It took us 1 hr 40 minutes along both sides of the Ovens River. Informative signposts about the Gold Diggings enhanced the lovely scenery. Quite a...More

This is a nice flat walk for most of the way, with only some shallow steps on the other side of the river. The views up and down the Ovens River are most worthwhile and walking in the bush is always relaxing.

A very pleasant / simple / relatively easy walk along both sides of a pretty babbling brook of a river with regular signage to explain the history of the area

short walk along the banks of the Ovens River in Bright. Very popular. Swinging bridges along the way, so you can decide the length of your walk.

Awesome walk, easy but wear trainers or walking shoes. Couldn't believe the stunning scenery and flora, one minute we were in Aussie bushland the next we could have been in England... spring time at it's best!

You have to do this walk on foot. It is a loop which can be done in an hour or less. Some interesting historical markers along the way and the Ovens river is glorious
