Hippo yawn walk was a lovely easy flat walk along a tree lined track. It only took us 20 minutes. We could see a Hippo formation, but we could also see it as a whale. Well worth the walk. We returned to the camp ground...More

If you're visiting Wave Rock, don't miss this as the Yawn is only 15 minutes walk away. I thought that it wouldn't look anything like a hippo, or that it would be really small, which obviously it wasn't. I was genuinely impressed. Take some cool...More

This is located close by wave rock, in fact an easy walk between the two where you can enjoy the local wildlife on the way. The rock formation is another great work of nature.

The rock formation was like a hippo is yawning. If someone went to see wave rock they should spare sometime to see this as it is easily accessible by a short walk or drive.

The kids really loved Hippos Yawn. They were small enough to climb in through the mouth and up the rock tunnels at the back to reach the top of the plateau. We sent them up with walkie talkies so they could let us know what...More

We walked from Wave Rock around the Hippos Yawn loop and it was a lovely walk through the trees. Very easy flat grade and quite relaxing. Takes about half an hour. The actually rock does look abit like a hippo yawning.
