I can not be certain why this is a tourist attraction. It is a functional building housing the tourist information center and a public toilet

This town hall was built in 1911, and is in superb condition. We were fortunate there was an art exhibition in progress on the day we visited, but I am sure the building is well utilised. It was a pleasure to visit

And a top spot to visit for the friendly local guides who provided us with lots of good advice about what to see and do around York. The building is certainly full of character (and not just the tourists!)

We thoroughly enjoying visiting the amazing community led ANZAC Display here in this wonderful heritage building... We were very glad that we had heard of this project, and it was one of our reasons for travelling to York. So glad we did.
