The kids were excited to try the Gem Mine. We spent the morning in Saluda and headed over to the Gem Mine after lunch. There was a chain across the entrance, no hours posted and when I called there was no answer or recording. Disappointed.

The gem mining is traditional for kids -- a bucket and mine for gems, but the staff are proud of their experience. Gift shop has interesting items.

We had a lot of fun searching for any hidden gems in our buckets. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a leaflet to help remember the type of gems & someone who could cut the gems into jewelry!More

Amber thank you for the review. We do not have print outs of the stones as the stones are ever changing. There is not a standardized leaflet that encompasses them all. Since we have a huge variety both from the US and other countries it...More
