Played both Lions Paw and Leopards Chase immediately after the 2018 Myrtle Beach World Amateur. I have been a big fan of Ocean Ridge Plantation courses but man, this was a serious disappointment. Will review Leopards Chase separately. First of all, we paid full fare...More

Played all 4 of the Big Cats golf courses and none of them were in good shape. Lions Paw was definitely in the worse shape of the 4 courses. Patched greens need a few more months of grow in before they would be worth playing....More

Played here as part of the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Tournament. Nice layout but heat and rain this year have caused some issues. Many repaired greens are a work in process and look like a patchwork quilt. The result are greens that don't roll true....More

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Lion's Paw. You are correct, the weather this year has certainly wreaked havoc on many of the bermuda greens golf courses in our region. Fortunately, the greens on Lion's Paw are in coming...More

The layout of the course is pretty good, but the course has issues. Number one is the greens. I realize MB had an awful winter, but Lion’s Paw greens were terrible. They were sodded—very bumpy and slow. Also, the grass everywhere was too long.More

Thank you for your review. Lion's Paw was definitely extremely hard hit by the winterkill conditions earlier this year and was actually closed for a period of time to allow for extensive sod work and fertilization. These greens have improved beyond measure from the condition...More

This course has horrible greens and numerous traps that are still lakes 4 days after the previous rain. Also, the fairways and rough were in need of some serious cutting. It's all a sign that the owners are under maintaining the course. There are a...More

Thank you for the review. It was definitely VERY wet on the course on the date you played, but your information about lack of rain for 4 days is incorrect. We have had rain showers nearly every day for the past week or more and...More

At one time, this course was just beautiful and well maintained. With this past winter hurting many of the courses in the area, Lion's Paw took a big hit. Lack of maintenance over the years brought this big cat to its knees. Now struggling to...More

Thank you for your review. We certainly apologize we were not able to meet your expectations on your recent visit. It has been a difficult year so far for many of the courses in our area, particularly those with Bermuda greens, like Lion's Paw. I...More

Thank you for your review! You are correct, winter is definitely not the optimum time of year for bermuda greens, as they go into dormancy in the cooler months and then must be overseeded or dyed green (If you want GREEN greens, lol) Our pricing...More

This is a better than average course. Some of the par threes were long for the vacation golfer. The course is challenging but not so difficult that it's not enjoyable. This is a course that my husband will keep coming back to.

Open off of the tee with good par threes make this a hard course for any player. There is enough trouble by the greens to make approach shots difficult. We had not played this course for a number of years and it is showing its...More
