This was our second trip to the Railroad Museum. There is a ton of history here about railroads, especially the southern lines. The details on passenger trains were fascinating and brought back memories of train trips in the 50s and early 60s (and later, for...More

Great model train setups with NC towns. Play area for toddlers and large model train that everyone can interact with. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Also have 3 rail cars you can walk through.

Information was not overwhelming and covered different aspects of the Atlantic Coast line...from dining dishes to duties of conductor and engineer. Layouts were done in great detail and had buttons to push for different sounds.

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
We are putting together class trips for middle school 7th graders and looking at Wilmington as one of our options. We are interested in any types of discounts for a group of students? Is there a limit as to how many can visit the museum at one time? Would there be a possibility of guided tours? We are looking at 150-180 students, split into two groups that would visit at separate times. 2 minutes ago Answer

I'm sure if you contact the museum they could give you the info you need. However, the museum is not that large and 150 students at one time may be very chaotic.
