I knew nothing about Wilmington before I came to visit. If you want to learn about this area and also some Civil War history, this is the place. They also had a special room showing movies and television shows that have been filmed here.

Very informative of the area. Quite a few different exhibits. Especially liked the space one. Didn't realize Michael Jordan had grown up here either.

Brought 4 and 6 year old and adults and kids all had fun. The exhibits were interesting and varied. Attended the constellation story time with the kids and it was informative and fun. Employees were all very nice and welcoming.

We go here about once a month (it is free to NHC residents on the first sunday of each month). My 7 year old daughter loves it. It has several good exhibits, many are hands on. Beyond the local history stuff, there are a few relatively new exhibits, including a mock spacestation with several experiment stations and a robot that... More

This museum was so interesting, so much local history !! We enjoyed every exhibit. The civil war really came alive ! The giant sloth in the entry. was amazing. The only disappointment was a group of school children were there and they weren't very well behaved...loud and running through the museum.

This is a fantastic museum, which treats all aspects of the history of the area and of Wilmington. The current Film Exhibit is great. We didn't know what to expect, but this a worthwhile afternoon.

took two boys ages 6 and 7 this past summer when it was too hot to play outside one afternoon. They boys really engaged with all of the exhibits and asked questions as well. The museum offers many activities to supplement the museum experience,

What a wonderful display on the history of Wilmington. Take the time to be a tourist in your own town.

The Cape Fear Museum is a wonderful and worthwhile place to spend some time on any visit to Wilmington. It gives a complete picture of of Wilmington, its history, the nature that surrounds it and the importance of the Cape Fear River to the development of the area. A recent addition to the Museum is the garden area filled with... More
