One of the first things we did after we arrived in Wilmington was visit Bellamy house. This is an incredible place, and our tour guide was most informative. After you visit The Bellamy house , be sure to visit the other sites In the historic district. The Bellamy house is a must!

I recommend the guided tour. It makes the tour more personalized. I enjoyed learning much about Wilmington's residents and thier culture. Things sure were different in 1860. Touring this home enlightens us about how many conviences we have today.

The house is beautiful, not a lot of furniture and 4 stories. Enjoyed the audio app to listen to the history of the house.

Visiting this historic mansion is like stepping into the past....seeing first hand the beautiful carvings, the tall columns, the amazingly beautiful fireplaces...be able to go to the look out windows on the very top and seeing the views once witness by the settlers.....the Cape Fear River in clear site to see ships as they were coming in....not to mention the... Walked from the Front Street area. Lovey pre civil war home. Tour was rich in architectural details & local history. Took about an hour, but was very interesting. Learn about pre & post civil war history. Building techniques, foods and customs. Go visit!

I absolutely love the architecture of the house, inside and out! I recently started volunteering there and every volunteer is dedicated to preserving the history of the Bellamy mansion and its residents. It does require a lot of walking and stairs, but they offer a video tour to anyone who cannot climb all of the stairs (there's about 80 total).

I was the only person on a guided tour, which felt a little strange, but loved it. This house still has the original slave quarters on the property. I love that Wilmington cares enough to preserve their historical houses.

It was a very informative tour, got a really good feel for "Urban" antebellum life. There are a LOT of stairs so wear very comfortable shoes and pray for cloud cover, luckily we had temps in the low 70s (In January, no less). Summer temps with humidity could be a bit uncomfortable, still, a must see if in the downtown... More

The Bellamy Mansion should be on everyone's must-see list when in Wilmington. The house itself is gorgeous, and the history behind it is fascinating! The tour began with a very interesting film in the visitor's center. The film told about the history of the Bellamy family and how the house came to be built. It provided excellent context for what... More
