Went to Hamnavoe on a sunny day which obviously helps but the harbour was lovely and the view over smaller islands was great, especially from a bit higher up in the village. Mrs Inkster from Fetlar is a most welcoming proprietor of the village shop...More

Hamnavoe is a tiny village on the west coast of Shetland. Small harbour and toilets. Meal beach is lovely with golden sands down a 300m pathway from the carpark.

A lovely circular walk from Meal Beach round a rocky headland to a disused lighthouse, returning to the same beach via Humnavoe village. Perfect for walkers who like to scramble over rocks. There is said to be an entrance to a smugglers cave with steps...More
