This is something unique which you won't find (at least I've never heard of one) in India. They conserve turtles here. They safeguard hundreds of eggs laid in their backyard and (claim to) release them back to the ocean. We saw baby turtles weighing a few grams to huge turtles with almost 100 pounds. Their beach was also clean and... More

A lovely place doing a lot of good work for turtles. You can see eggs, turtles of all ages and a turtle hospital. You can hold the young turtles and pet the larger ones. The cost of 1,000 rupees goes towards the turtles care, so it is worth it. A great stop near Galle

Reading the reviews of other travelers, I was expecting a small but nice visit at a reasonable price of 500 RS per person. Small and nice it was, but the price has most recently doubled to reach 1000 RS per person (so 30 EUR or USD for a family with 2 teens). As if this was not expensive enough, we... More

I have visited the place during the days , which was great to see. However the best thing about this place is the fact that they release them most days to the sea. We went for the evening session and had the privilege of releasing 120 baby turtles to freedom, which was just the best. You have to do the... More

The scope of the project is so meaningful and it's really great that they sacrifice their time for this. They have a systematic process and attentive staff. It's a unique experience to visit the place get some knowledge about the sea turtles, see them, touch them and actually to contribute for their wellbeing.

We went there as it has a lot of positive reviews, and we weren't disappointed. The entrance fee is 1000 Rs and then you can make a donation so that they can buy turtle eggs which otherwise would be bought at the black market and sold for "turtle soup". The girl explained to us very clearly how they work there... More

We enjoyed our visit to this Conservation Project. It is heartwarming to know that some people do care about the turtles. We were shown how they let the eggs hatch and then how they are set out to sea after 3 days. We were able to see various types of turtles. The gift shop is not very interesting, they should... More

We decided to visit the Sea Turtle conservation Project as we were touring in Sri Lanka, but the tuk tuk driver at the station took us to the wrong place, a "turtle farm". The place with a turtle-shaped entrance, where they ask you to pay 1000 Rps for the ticket is the WRONG place. The Sea Turtle Conservation Project will... More
