I traveled as a single female for my 50th hoping for a lifetime experience and I certainly got it. I knew I wanted to go kayaking with whales and had done my research. I had no previous kayaking experience and chose Larry's company because the reviews and research I had done appealed to me. As I was travelling from the... More

Where do I start, so much to say I have wanted to visit Vancouver Island for over 20 years and kayak with whales and other wildlife. August 2016 we did just that ..... Before I start with our trip I just want to mention Larry. He is very friendly and cannot do enough for you to ensure you enjoy the... More

This is the 2nd time my friends and I have rented kayaks from Larry to do a self guided tour in the Broughtons and Johnstone Straits. Both times, Larry has been very helpful, professional and informative. He's an expert on the local waters and kayak conditions and his knowledge has been invaluable on our trips!

My friend and I are just back from the 4-day orca camping trip and had a great time. The pre-trip email communication was good and we were met by Larry on time at the Port McNeill marina to be ferried up to the permanent campsite on Sophia Islands, about an hour or so away. There was only one other couple... More

We just returned from a 3-night excursion. The Good Beautiful location, nice campsite (primitive, but I expected that) Good Kayaks (doubles and singles) Very friendly staff (except Larry, I’ll get back to that later). We did see some Orca’s and Humpbacks from a distance. Saw Sea lions really close. Bald eagles, amazing scenery. It was not a good week to... More

What a beautiful location to kayak in. Larry has set up a permanent campsite on an island we reached by his private boat. 5 of us signed up to kayak in this area with the hope of seeing orcas. Unfortunately, the orcas hadn't moved down yet but we were excited to see humpbacks, porpoises, dolphins, sea lions and lots of... More

Great trip! The weather cooperated and we did some fun "glamping" on Larry's private island. Saw 12-15 whales and one pod of Orcas. Took a very pleasant hike in a cedar forest and visited a whale observation camp overlooking the sound. The guides were lots of fun and the food was great. I am an early riser and Francois always... We paid full price for 3 nights for 2 adults. We had a 13 month old and agreed with the owner that one of us would paddle in the morning and one in the afternoon. For the whole time of 3 nights and 4 days we got 3 paddles between the 2 of us for $3000. So it was $1000... More

My friend from England and I had a wonderful time sea kayaking and camping on a small island out of Port McNeill on the north end of Vancouver Island. Our guide, Dean, took care of virtually everything, even providing coffee to the door of our tent in the mornings. The first day out in the kayaks we saw 3 different... More

My brother, sister and I did a 4 day trip in the Broughton Archipelago. We kayaked in the faster moving water on the edge of the Archipelago and saw a lot of humpbacks, dolphins, orcas and porpoises and also weaved through many of the islands in the archipelago. It was stunning. We had rainy weather the entire time, but were... More
