Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very cool experience visiting this plane and statue in Harbour Grace. Very nice plaque explaining the story of the plane and its history. Very well worth the stop

More mothballed planes! The Spirit of Harbour Grace, like the nearby SS Kyle, has a colourful history that is closely-tied to NFLD and Canada. The plane itself looks great and with a bit of mending, could probably be flown again.
There is a nearby flag display, with the flag of each of Canada's provinces and territories; this day, I learned that Labrador actually has its own flag, separate from NFLD's flag. There is also a very lovely statue of Amelia Earhart, as she started her cross-Atlantic voyage, from Harbour Grace (er, nearby, anyways).

Town not looking after plane . Grounds well kept . Lights for monument need repair.
It’s a nice spot but the plane looks poorly managed.
The old boat KYLE is an icon to bad something was not done back in the 70’s to preserve it . Now it’s to late

A peaceful place. Has beautiful views of Harbour and stranded ship. Places to sit ,chat, relax and reflect. Worth the brief stop as it allows you to understand the significant history of this town.

Another nice little spot. The plane needs a good paint job but the signs are all still readable about Amelia and the history of the plane.

Beautiful site, well maintained, clean with picnic table to have lunch. Worth a look. Conveniently located just off the trans canada highway in the historic town of Harbour Grace.

I had no idea Amelia Earhart left from Heart's Content on her trans-Atlantic flight. There's a good summary of the area's aviation history as well as the wreck of the SS Kyle which remains stuck aground right by the DC-3 memorial to Amelia Earhart.

The display is nice. Lucky enough to see a bald eagle leave when we walked the boardwalk! Make sure you take the time to find the airfield and GO! Take “ the path less traveled”!

The plane and statue of Amelia Earhart are just beside the highway. Worth a stop to understand the history of transatlantic flight. How things have changed.

The "Spirit of Harbour Grace" is a DC-3 plane. There are a couple of information boards telling its history and there is also a Visitor's Information Center right beside the plane site.
There is a statue of Amelia Earhart here as well and in the river is the wreck of the S S Kyle. Not really much to do here but it is worth a quick stop.
