Loved the house. Hated the power outage. Happy to enjoy one set done by cell phone light sad when they stopped the show due to safety. Looked pretty safe to me! Darn rules.

Be sure to catch one of traditional music shows at the Louisbourg Playhouse. The playhouse itself was built for a movie that was filmed in the Fort and then moved to this location. It's an interesting theatre in the round construction. It's a small venue so there are no bad seats.

Saw two concerts on two consecutive nights. A replica of The Globe Theatre in London. Excellent music and a great venue for the community

Louisbourg, NS is known for the fortress -- and rightfully so. But the surprise jewel was a performance by Keltic Drive, their last of the season. My only regret is that they had no CD that I could take home. Kimberly Fraser thrilled me with her left- handed fiddle, but blew me away when, while holding fiddle and bow in... More

This is a lovely little theatre, created by recycling a Disney film set of Shakespeare's Globe and putting a roof on it. We went to see the Celtic Drive concert and left at the interval. The members of the band were good musicians. Their choice of music was, at times, a bit dodgy but the big problem was the sound.... More

The Louisbourg Playhouse runs most evenings and has some interesting talent on display. Some is local and others are more well known. Volunteers run the Playhouse and do an admirable job. I would suggest calling to ascertain when the ticket office is open. This is an excellent venue for watching any performance and the sound is quite good. For a... More

If you would like to hear and feel the music and charm of Cape Breton, this is the place to go. We just had a short walk to the Playhouse and were thoroughly entertained for just a little over $20.00 each. The theater inside is perfect for watching the stage from any seat you may have...there's a balcony also which... More

We didn't know about this theatre until we walked by after dinner. The music emanating from the building made us stop and listen. It was great!

Very good versatile 4 piece band. Varied styles & good musicianship. Especially enjoyed brilliant fiddler/dancer/pianist Kimberley. Loved everything apart from Jake the Peg (nooooooo, drop it guys) & the murdering of Danny Boy (one of the best tunes ever written). Would definitely go to hear them again. Lovely intimate theatre.

On a very wet evening we went to this delightful venue to see Island Folk who were great. Not a big crowd (25 max) which was a shame but we enjoyed the singing, the complimentary tea/coffee and oatcakes (which were more like shortbread) at the interval and the general friendliness of Nova Scotia. A lovely evening - please go if... More
