Its a nice short drive out to the Lighthouse and I feel that the views are as nice as you will have rivalling even the famous Peggy's Cove and it is definitely not as crowded. The view of Fortress Louisbourg is worth the drive alone.

About 5 km out of town. Very scenic with waves breaking over the coastal rocks. You look across the harbor at the Louisbourg Fortress. A trail goes along the top of the cliffs. You pass fishing wharfs and boats along the way to the lighthouse.

A good find in a lighthouse. Beautiful views and some history to be learned. Besides the current tower, which is not open, the location has the ruins of the former tower which dates back to the 1700's. A lot of history and beautiful sights.

The lighthouse is in quite a location with very nice views of the sea and the fortress of Louisbourg. A couple fishing boats going past when we were there. It looked as if there were some walking trails there but we didn't go on them

The lighthouse is lovely and the walk through the forest and along the rocks is beautiful! The road to the lighthouse is narrow and rough FYI.

As we left the Fortress of Louisbourg we drove out to the Lighthouse. It was located on a scenic spot and gave access to a number of walks.

The Lighthouse itself is just a light house with a bit of graffitti at the site. Ho, hum. What we didn't realize until we were there was that there's a great trail that offers some stunning views of the coast. The trail gently rises and...More

You could definitely do it on a motorcycle. Keep in mind that it is a very narrow dirt road and may be slightly bumpy but nothing your bike couldn't handle!
