In the past I had the opportunity to attend a wedding reception held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum (CWHM). Let me say, the experience was excellent. Guests toured the Museum and enjoyed a very appetizing and delightful food reception. Fast forward about 5-8 years,...More
I booked a flight for my husband for his birthday and it was well worth it. Visiting the museum is amazing enough, but the flight was wonderful. We’ll be going back before our membership runs out for sure!!
Interesting, the volunteers do a really job telling about the planes, the times etc. The interactive stuff s great for kids (sit at the controls of a plane amongst other things). We really enjoyed this
Took our 5 year old grandson for the afternoon. He actually loved learning about all the planes. Got good pictures of him sitting in the cockpits of some of the planes. Very interesting for grandma and grandpa also. Gift shop had a lot of good...More
Went with friends for Flyfest. Got to see the Lancaster bomber warm up and take off 🙂

Unfortunately we visited late on a Saturday afternoon and the museum was set up for a private function (wedding). Staff and volunteers were involved with the wedding happenings and our visit suffered due to that. I felt like we were intruding on the wedding as...More

There is a Buzz Beurling stature at the Warplane Museum. He was, indeed, one of the best pilots that Canada produced during WW2. He had the keen ability to track and then shoot enemy aircraft using a very old technique. He would place his sights in front of the enemy, fire and then let the enemy aircraft fly into his bullets. However, he was not a team player. Beuriling liked to fly alone, disobey orders and confront the enemy on his terms.... Even though he was a skilled pilot with a great record of kills, he was sent from squadron to squadron because of his "lone wolf" attitude.
Nevertheless, he is still a great Canadian pilot and hero.
