Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went there for dinner seated quickly. Introductory staff and waitress very professional. Went downhill after that. The meal was below expectation based on the menu description and the wine although very good way too pricey. They seem to think that their menu is far superlative to everyone else when in fact the price is above everyone else the menu so so!

Were we under dressed? The people in front of us were seated but no one spoke to us. My husband eventually walked in past the desk and found someone. We were refused a table because the kitchen couldn’t handle 6 more people but we were offered take out. ??That made no sense.
We questioned them about this and were told that they were unable to seat anyone after 7:30. It wasn’t 7:30 yet. The couple in front of us were seated. We had children with us but there was a children’s menu and our children are really well behaved.
After travelling all day, hungry, and now refused service we left - walking past empty tables and newly arriving patrons. We were so looking forward to really good food after travelling so far. I am still flabbergasted. I’ve never been turned away before for any reason!

Went to this cafe and gallery. They have items everywhere. Drawers to pull out to see jewelry but heavy items on the floor; One heavy piece of wood was on the floor near a drawer and fell on my foot as I pulled a drawer out. Broke my large toe from the impact! 3 Employees saw my toe and got me ice. A night in the ER! Owners would not come to see me, would not return my phone calls, would not come out when I went to the gallery to talk to them! Clearly they do not care about customers especially tourists, just our money! Don't go!!!!!!!!

This place looks like a typical gift shop/cafe from the road, but once you stop you'll be glad you did. The gardens out back are large, well maintained, full of art (stone statues wood benches, eclectic furniture), all for sale. A mix of flowers, bushes, ponds, vegetable gardens. Multi-level decks off the gift shop and cafe, which has a great menu. Do not skip this place - it's a very unique stop in PEI and must be appreciated.

This was an amazing place to visit. Everything is so beautiful and intriguing that I could have spent the whole day there instead of a few hours. Wow! Keep up the amazing work!

We told some friends that we were going to PEI and they suggested we go to The Dunes Studio Gallery and Cafe since it is very close to Charlottetown.
We were impressed with the food, the art, the gardens and the building.
I ordered the pizza of the day which consisted of lobster, red onions and cheese. It came with a side salad. It was surprisingly good, especially since I never had lobster on a pizza.
This is a truly lovely place and you won't regret the drive from Charlottetown.

We love The Dunes Studio Gallery & Cafe, situated just outside of PEI's National Park. The setting is spectacular, the gardens are amazing and the selection of art and related objects is arguably the best in Atlantic Canada. The selection of pottery, (made on the premises), glass, jewelry, wooden objects, household accessories and clothing is outstanding. To go to PEI without visiting The Dunes would be a mistake.
The cafe is cheerful, bright, spotless and welcoming. The service is professional, friendly and unobtrusive. We really, really enjoyed the fresh PEI mussels that were perfectly cooked in an amazing Asian-influenced broth. There is a good selection of main courses..and all of the food is made from local ingredients as much as possible. That being said, our main courses (a lobster Pad Thai, and a salmon 'special') were very good, but not exceptional. The Pad Thai contained far too much lime. The diner behind us agreed and told that to the server. The salmon was very good but nothing special. Perhaps the setting, the view, and the out of this world mussels were reasons to expect out of this world entrees. That being said, we would still highly recommend The Dunes Cafe for dinner. We have eaten there on several occasions and have always found all of the food to be 'excellent'. Desserts focused on local ingredients and, this being July, strawberries were the focus. The wine list is very good and there is a great selection of cocktails including martinis. We wish there was a rating higher than 'very good' but lower than 'excellent' as a 'very good plus' rating would be the one that we would use.

Exceptional crafts, art, jewllery, furniture, on-site handmade pottery, awesome bistro, beautiful flower gardens and even a roof top water garden - all within minutes of beautiful Brackley Beach. It is a must see on every trip to PEI. You might want to phone ahead for a lunch reservation beacuse the unique menue options are in great demand.

We have been to The Dunes before to see the gallery/gardens but never dined there until today. We had the best lunch ever. I had the lobster salad and my husband tried the steak sandwich. The salads included were so flavourful. My salad had a generous amount of lobster and I was also able to make a lobster sandwich with the tastiest biscuit that was included. My husband's steak sandwich was the best he ever tasted. I took a bite and the steak was prepared just right. For dessert we had the carrot cake (again best ever tasted) and the mouthwatering blueberry dessert. We will definitely be back and will definitely recommend!!

We stopped here on the recommendation of a friend and thoroughly enjoyed it.
There is lots to see, both inside and out, and it showcases many local artisans and their specialty crafts.....as well as some imported pieces.
And the outside garden of flowers, water features, statues, and unique wood furniture was so picturesque and relaxing.
This is a classy, tasteful boutique gallery with an incredible variety of art and craft items....for sale, or you can just look and admire the amazing talents gifted to some.
We did not eat at the restaurant here, so I cannot comment.
There is something here to peak everyone's interest, so if you are in the area, stop in and have a look.
