Want to explore culture and heritage and have a great day in the water and at the beach, then this is the place to go. On your way to Charlottetwpown, stop at rick's fish and chips for great home cut fries and fish prepared on site! One of our annual favourite outings...

Nice location. Beach was beautiful and would be glorious in the warm summer months. Hit it during shoulder season cool & windy. Walked the sands & yes they sang

I remember being here many years ago, but again I was not able to go swimming. This time, in mid- September, the water was too cold and it was a windy day. Still it was pleasant to stroll the beach and watch the waves breaking on the sand. The gift shop was the only amenity still open, and we purchased... More

Went here mid-week in September on a beautiful sunny day. Walked along the beach for over an hour taking in the beautiful vistas to the north, across to Cape Breton Island and the beautiful little harbour. Hardly anyone else on the beach. Peace + Beauty = Perfect!

Visited mid September on a week day and basically had the beach to ourselves. Everything was pretty much closed up and it was too chilly for a swim but we walked for miles along the shoreline and enjoyed the beauty and solitude.

Teens will be occupied jumping and diving off the bridge and warf into the clear cool ocean while parents can relax on the beach. Lifeguard here too. Explore the dunes or swim across the shallow sandy-bottomed bay. Crabs, starfish and flounder can be found all around. Ice cream shop, gift shop and visitors Centre to see. Free parking, no admission... More

Basin Head was on our "to do" list during our stay on PEI. So glad we took the time to visit. What a wonderful place to enjoy the sea, sun and sand. Best part, the sand sings. May take some time to get in the groove, but the sand definately does sing! Take some time to enjoy kids and adults... More

This is a great beach in terms of spaciousness, cleanliness, services available, parking, waves, accessibility, the direction it face, the view of the ferry going back and forth, and more. We enjoyed jumping in the waves, and finding some hermit crabs and a bit of other sea lift under the water. This is the famous Singing Sands, and if you... More

If you ask my kids what the best thing about PEI was it is Basin Head!! The sand felt like soft flour, the water was rough enough to provide some fun wave action but not too rough for onlooking parents to be worried! The red rock cliffs were gorgeous! And the prohibited bridge jumping...well that was the most fun thing... More
