The water in December was calm and great for paddle boarding. Water was clean and refreshing after hot day. Closer to shore there was decent boogie-boarding for kids. In the morning beach was empty while filling up in the afternoon. Occasionally surf increased to allow for paddle surfing. Sand stretches for miles which is nice but watch out for rocks... More

This is "the" beach in Punta de Mita. A couple miles of white sand beach stretching the northern length of the Bay of Banderas looking southward to PV which is 30 miles away. Several restaurants along the beach. Good beginner surf when there is a swell.

I was really looking forward to dining at El Anclote. Is was looking forward to their Pescado Zarandeado. Unfortunately the fish fell well short of my expectations. We also had a shrimp cocktail which was not very good. The service was good, but the food is not. I do not recommend this restaurant when in Punta de Mita.

Nice people, good food, but fairly standard fare. Wait staff tries a little too hard, which is no fault of their own, but perhaps a little training would help.

We've had lunch here several times. Menu, kitchen and service are excellent, as well as the location. Anclote is on an pebble beach, boats for Marietas Islands depart only a few steps away. During low season, staff at Anclote will take care of your belongings while you take the tour.

cute little place in Punta Mita. There is public access to the beach right next to Hotel Cinco. The break there is super gentle, it is dubbed "Mexican Malibu", but for it to happen, the swell has to be 3-5 ft at Punta Burros.

You will enjoy you day at the beach here. You can swim, have a table and umbrella on the beach, and enjoy your time with you new friend.

Love the ceviche here! Thanks to Letitia and Christian for their hospitality. Great fun to watch the surfers and paddle boarders while drinking a bucket of Pacificos...
