Fantastic experience

This was unbelievable. We got to swim with the turtles.. brought our own fins and snorkeling gear. The whole experience cost a locker and the collective fares. Amazing

You are greeted by locals who want to take you out on their snorkel activity but all you need to do is go to the beach booth and hire your own snorkelling equipment then off you go. Its amazing and have done this several times when staying at the grand Bahia at Akumal. Take either a taxi or a local... More

This is a must do excursion . The turtles brought tears to my eyes. Swimming in the cenotes was exciting and educational. Our guide was very professional and fun.

Snorkeling in the turtle sanctuary at Akumal, sounds like an exciting adventure, right? That's what we thought too, Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!. The Akumal snorkeling experience at the Sanctuary had its ups and downs. It was a bit pricey, it cost an additional 400 pesos for the Reef Tax, which is above and beyond our day excursion fees to get there. We were... More

This was worse snorkel experience - six of us all masks leaked and we all took in salt water. No fins and we were swimming against current. Our guide had fins and kept telling us to hurry up. Only saw two turtles and one stingray. Very crowded spot to snorkel as was tourist trap.

In August I was one of 7 people that were accepted to go on the nightly Tortuga walk. That evening it rained and there was lightning so I did not know if we were going to be able to do the walk. Luckily by the time we got there it stopped. After a briefing about what the CEA does and... More

Firstly you will get stopped on the road into the beach .just say you are going to have lunch. Then pass through the large gates and park on the left cost 20 for an hour. Have your own snorkelling gear and walk to the beach. Be aware of conservation, but if you can swim and float easily you don't need a... More
