This is an environmentally savvy organization that is attempting to asset with the turtles. The person we spoke with was very knowledgable and a delight to visit EVEN off season.

better than overrated swimming with dolphins, not advertised much but a great day, easy to get to, great memories. you see lots of turtles but also squid, ray, star fish, etc

They do a good job trying to educate the public about the importance of the sea turtles in the area. Worth the visit!

Turtles are another amazing creation of God. Here they are studied and cared for. Eggs are protected from predators Swimming with the turtles was easy and safe.

you must have a cold shower before you go into the sea.You have to wear a life jacket,no matter if you can swim or not,,thats the law there.

Went to Akumal with 3 friends and paid 350 pesos to go through the ecological centre to snorkel with the turtles! Our guide was amazing and we saw about 5 adult turtles. Going through the Eco centre benefits the reef as the money we paid...More

I think it's the time of year you are going because it's breeding season. We went early October and there were no restrictions.
