At first I was expecting a park (which here in Yucatan seem basically to be non-existent) and thus was a bit underwhelmed by what I saw _at first_. It's a privately owned place. Let me describe what you will find here:
* a lot of trees, serenity and cute little huts and tents
* wonderful people staying there, almost everyone extends their original stay duration
* a very nice tour about bees every day at 08:30 with honeytasting afterwards for 120$
* a dry cenote (I think only accessible during the tour), not to swim
* a beautiful pool area
* some chicken and geese
* a restaurant (which was veeery slow with our orders, didnt have the biggest choice of food, but the cacao was really good)
* a shop where they sell honey and products derived from it
* you can tent there for 250$ (I think they even have tents ready under a roof, but you can also bring your own)
* a chapel. It's closed and I don't know when they open it.
The whole vibe of this place was really good and I met lots of very conscious people there. Been there twice. If nothing else, I recommend the tour in the mornings ✌️

After a morning at Chichen Itza, I took this one-hour tour in the afternoon. Gerardo was a fantastic English-speaking guide. He talked about the plants and trees, the birds, the dry cenote and its bees, the roles these all played in traditional Mayan culture... We saw bees in the dry cenote and in the more usual boxes. Then we finished with a honey tasting and learning about the various medicinal things created by the bees. The medicines and honeys are all sold there too. Don't forget lots of bug spray, as the mosquitoes are voracious in the cenote. A phenomenal education!!

We showed up without confirming tour times in advance and had to wait about 45 minutes - completely worth it. The tour was the right amount of time, interesting, informative, and the dry cenote is really cool. We loved the honey tasting. This was one of the highlights of a great trip. Pro tip - if there in the evening bring bug repellent. The mosquitoes were fierce.

I’m just back from a wonderful few hours at the Xkopek Parque Apicola, where I learned about the fascinating stingless bees that live, thrive, and make honey here at this family-owned Mayan preserve. The tour, offered several times a day in Spanish and English by a very knowledgeable guide, included a descent into the dry cenote where several species of bees (and wasps) have nests, a visit to see some of the hives, and a wonderful “tasting” of several kinds of honey and honey-based products at the end. I never tasted pollen before.

We visited this Mayan bee collective as a family of 6. We took the tour and did the honey tasting afterwards. If you arrive between tours, they have hammocks and chairs to relax in. Our tour guide was clearly passionate about the four types of native Mayan bees. As a beekeeper, I was fascinated. The rest of my group found it interesting, despite not being interested in insects! It’s a great, relaxing hour in Valladolid.

Touring the Mayan Bee Park was one of the highlights of our Dental vacation in the Cancun-Tulum area.
We learned about the many stingless ancient bees that inhabited the Americas before the Europeans brought the more common honey bee.
The park is a lovely eco educational organization that did an excellent job of trying to preserve the ancient tradition of Mayan beekeeping and the importance of honey in our lives.
Walking through the dry cenote and seeing the variety of tiny little bees and their hives was fascinating.
At the end we had a honey tasting and then we were able to purchase lovely products in the gift shop.
After that tour we visited the nearby Cenote Samula for a refreshing dip.
We then drove into Valladolid for dinner. It made for a lovely day trip from Cancun.
I strongly recommend supporting this type of organization.

Just a twenty minute walk south of the main square of Valladolid you will find this oasis of tranquility. We went twice: the first time was interrupted by a thunderstorm, but the second we managed to enjoy an interesting and informative tour of the dry cenote where the bees live. Mario told us a little of the culture of his ancestors, as well as the science and nature of bees and honey.
Very friendly.
(And very friendly people in the barrio San Juan as we walked to/from the main square… holas and buenos días from all).

Great short educational tourist attraction not raving. With tourists. Learn a lot about nature and the ancient Mayan relationship with their native honey bees. Fantactic array of a variety of species with an if to drive guide and lots of honey related gifts and treats at the end to buy. All ages can enjoy

This is an interesting place to visit. I liked all the information about the bees but especially liked seeing the dry cenote which is onsite. Super hot day but comfortable temp in the cenote. Tour was about 90 minutes.
Jorge was our tour guide and also a family member of the people that began this business. Very knowledgeable, very enjoyable tour. At the end of tour Jorge provided a variety of honey tastings.
Lots of honey based products.
Entry was 150 pesos plus we tipped our guide.
There's a restaurant on-site where we enjoyed lunch. Reasonable prices.

We stayed with the intention of getting to rest in the night, however the place by itself is a pleasant experience. It's like a little paradise inside the city, not just a place to get to sleep. You can take a pleasant walk, connect with nature and relax. For the price it offers you more than the hotels downtown. Simple but delicious food, with local ingredients. The largest and most beautiful pool we have seen here in Valladolid. I will definitely return with more days off.

Is it possible to schedule a shorter tour? Or walk around the park without being part of a tour group? Our small group has only 1 hour available, but it sounds like the group tours take 1-1/2 hours.

Is there a restaurant here? If yes, what time does it open and close?

Hola, podría saber cual es el precio de la estadía en el parque :) ya sea en cabaña o en camping. Saludos!

We (5 of us) are visiting Mexico in January and love the sound of this place; how much does it cost to stay in your tents please per night, how many to a tent? How long would you suggest that we stay in the area? What other activities are in area and is the Cenote San Lorenzo Oxman nearby?
Many thanks, Julie

Valladolid is a great hub from which you can make day trips in every direction...specially if you have a car. Public transportation is great but you are constrained by the schedule of the bus company. Cenote Oxman is within easy bicycling distance of Xkopek. There are three cenotes within the city limits of Valladolid, two of which are open to the public. If you are planning on being in Xkopek in January, get confirmation from them on the tents, sleeping bags and shower facilities. This year in January someone staying there came to me to borrow blankets because Xkopek either ran out or just did not have blankets during a cold spell...cold being a relative term. The coldest weather I have experienced during 21 years of visiting or living in the Yucatan was 9°C (about 48°F) for just a few hours. Hope this helps. Have fun on your adventure.

Hello,
My husband, baby (7 months) and I will be stopping in Valladolid to break up our car trip between Cancun and Merida. Would you consider this a "day trip" place where we could enjoy a couple of hours? I don't have Facebook -- any information would be helpful...

Hello Vanessa. Perhaps the tour is not very convenient, because your baby is small, because maybe the dust or some plants may cause some allergy in your child. Although you may wish to visit the shop, the small museum of honey and taste the honey, this is a shorter version of the complete tour, besides having a moment of relaxation in nature. You can book on 9851250964. Greetings, Jorge

En mi caso opte por tomar un taxi, te cobran de 20 a 30 pesos, la entrada al parque apicola tiene un costo de 50 pesos por persona, y te brindan degustaciones, saludos.
