A church with lots of life and atmosphere.
Since 1545, this church has served as a meeting place and a comforting haven for Valladolid's Catholic community. During the Sunday mass at 5 PM, you can still feel the strong faith that unites people of all ages and social classes. People make the sign of the cross at both the entrance and exit, kneel during the sacrament, and sing and pray aloud together with the priest. Valladolid's cathedral might not look like much at first glance, but its vibrant inner life gives the church meaning and relevance.

    Iglesia en Valladolid
We visited Valladolid for just one hour, after returning to Cancun from the archaeological zone of Chichen Itza. The Church is located on the main square of the town, with lots of food stands with sweet stuff and souvenirs to buy around it. I was surprised to find out that it was built from stones from a pyramid who was destroyed by the Spanish conquistadors.

Church in the main square of Valladolid
Main church opposite the plaza in Valladolid. Lots of souvenir shops plus more around. We only stopped here for about 20 minutes to have a walk around after our tour of chichen itza. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and a great photo opportunity. We were here later on in the day and it was incredibly hot. There’s not tonnes of shade so make sure you wear a hat and bring lots of water.

    Beautiful colonial church
The Iglesia de San Servasio is right in the heart of Valladolid next to the Plaza e Parque Francisco Canton. It is a historic church dating back over 400 years. It is a must to visit if you’re in Valladolid and I highly recommend.

This is a really nice church right in the middle of town. We were able to go through it and definitely worth a visit! A little run down so hopefully they can maintain it for years to come.

We visited Valladolid in transit, returning to Cancun after the archaeological zone. The Church of San Servacio is located on the main square. It is a structure with two belt towers and a shield carved in stone in the middle, with a royal crown and a white hawk and a palm in the center. The interior does not surprise with its luxury, everything is modest.

Worth a visit just for the cool quiet. Take a couple of photos and wander up and down the aisles while you try your best to interpret the Spanish-only signs using your best high school Spanish vocabulary.

What a beautiful church with 2 bell towers that is in the city centre of Valladolid.
It was founded in 1545 & rebuilt in the 1700's. Located across the street from the main plaza of the city. Worth a visit
