We were on a bike trip and stopped by the Mayapan distillery to learn about how tequila was made. A nice break from a long bike ride. The staff were friendly and the guide showed us how tequila was made. It was about a 15...More

20°43'32.75"N 88°12'22.79"W I visited this factory from Chichen Itza. It is not worth the visit which lasts about 5 minutes for which you pay. They offer both Tequila and Mezcal at really high prices. I bought nothing. Then you go to a souvenir shop where...More

Small family business. Friendly staff. Done in 10 mn. The opportunity to taste 4 different types of Local tequilas. Surprisingly better than expected. Good guava honey.

Great quick stop while on a tour or in a rental car. Right off the Cancun-Merida Toll road and very close to nearby Valladolid. The tour is interesting. The guides gave us extra tastings. Bought a small nip of tequila. The tequila is both smoky...More

The 'tour' was very short, though it did present a couple of interesting points. At 50 pesos, it's value priced. The tequila is not bad, it has a very distinct smoky taste which will appeal to some but not to others. The gift/souvenir shop was...More

I am not much of a tequila drinker, and found Mayapan's tequila to be surprisingly smooth and pleasant. The tour experience was brief, but very educational (and extremely inexpensive... 50 pesos?? Not even $3...) The smell of the blue agave pineapples smoking was wonderful, and...More

A quick visit to a little Tequila distillery that is well known in the Yucatan peninsula region. They offer free tasting before any purchase of all the types of tequila - even antiqua. They also sell Maya bees honey and Mexican cofee so definitely worth...More

This place is so cool! They have an agave plant farm and grow, harvest, and make the tequila right there! We got free tastes and seen them labeling recently filled bottles! Awesome place!

The guided tour in the distillery cost us 50 pesos each, and took only around 4 minutes. The tour guide was a young woman whose English was really bad and she talked in such a low voice we could not understand a thing. We got...More
