Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spent a great Sunday afternoon walking through old Amersham learning about the history of the town and why our beautiful town looks the way it does and how it has changed. Highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful little museum with great local emphasis. Liz was incredibly helpful and a delight, as was the very knowledgeable Stephen.

Such a warm welcome into the museum by two lovely, friendly ladies who had great knowledge of the museum and events that are on.

Beautiful building and exhibits which were displayed so perfectly!

Great things for little ones to interact with and see so will be back with my grandchildren.

Also will be joining one of the tours of Amersham that they offer.

Great value for money - pay entrance fee and this entitles you to an annual pass!

Me and my partner were staying in Amersham on a Sunday, we had some spare time so decided to pop in to the museum.
There was a lovely lady and man that greeted us, they were very welcoming and friendly. The gentleman took us through the first part he was very knowledgeable, so if you have any questions he is the man to ask!
We learnt quite a lot about Amersham and the tickets were reasonably priced too.

Having had to book a time slot on line (Covid), I was greeted by name when I arrived punctually. The volunteer staff were all welcoming and helpful. The largely chronological exhibits were well laid out, with clear explanations and special texts at the bottom for younger visitors. The concentration on specific dates helped focus attention. The goods on sale were limited but just what I had hoped for.

Well considered and engaging history with plenty of exhibits that draw you in to engage and inform. Sections of the building are original 1600s and very well preserved

The museum has been extended and up-dated in recent times making it more user friendly. Mainly topics of local interest but there is something for all age groups here. Special days devoted to topics and projects of interest to the young.

A really great place to visit, I visited with my 2 daughters 5 & 8, they had a great time and didn’t want to leave.
There are lots of interactive displays on Amersham through the ages for the children, upstairs there is a Tudor dining room where they can dress up and serve you food from the era, they also have an interesting garden and garden toys.
A lovely place to visit for a couple of hours.

Museums talk to us and we are required to be the listeners,
This one involves you with such fascinating history including a parrot rescuer, Italian ex POW settlers, bewhiskered, charming tour guides and all only 30 minutes from Heathrow.

We spent a very enjoyable hour here. The time line room was very interesting and it was nice to know what was there before Tescos! My husband remembers where the old bus garage was as his father was a bus driver and he's often told me where it was as I'm not originally from Bucks like he is. I loved the old dolls house and our son enjoyed doing the 'pigsaw'! He loved dressing up in the regalia in the banqueting hall and sitting at the table in his finery! The garden is beautiful and tranquil and contains over a hundred different herbs, it was interesting to read about the different herbs and their uses, some I'd never heard of, it has inspired me to enlarge my own herb garden, the smell is beautiful. There are also some games available for the family to play. Very enjoyable.
