The Cambridge Gliding Centre (CGC) is the premier gliding club in East Anglia. If you are looking for for an unforgettable day out or to learn to become a pilot CGC has a range of packages to suit. You can take to controls in one of our two seat training aircraft from your very first flight and soar across the Cambridgeshire countryside. Open 7 days a week in Summer Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday in Winter

My first flight was cancelled but it still wasn't a waste as I got to chat with the instructor, showed me the simulator and its not his fault if the weather is bad. The second attempt we flew. Simon was a great instructor. Near the end I started to feel a bit sick, I don't know if he guessed this as he said 'We should land.' After we landed he said we can go up ok but I was fine. Very professional and sweet. Gave me a certificate and a feather. The lady at the desk was really nice also and seemed excited for me. Toilets are clean.

I attended Cambridge Gliding Centre on a week-long course from the 31st of August to the 4th of September. During the week, I was very lucky and we had 3 days of amazing thermalling weather which we made full use of. During the course, I flew over 25 times and had many flights of over 40 minutes. I made great progress learning to fly the glider during these flights, practising coordinated turns and learning more about the launch and landing. The instructors were friendly and competent individuals. The instructors had hundreds, if not thousands of flying hours each! The views from the glider were beautiful and the club itself is well resourced. There are several two-seater gliders at the club, a nice clubhouse, kitchen and onsite accommodation. The accommodation was pleasant and there are other useful onsite living facilities available. Overall I had a superb week and I will definitely aim to visit again in the future.

Never occured to me that we would be able to get involved in such an amazing sport and become members of such a fantastic club. The whole family is involved in one way or another and our two girls are completely hooked. Everyone's really friendly and helpful. It's unexpectedly affordable and the achievement of flying solo and progressing onto cross country gliding is wonderfully addictive.

My 15 year old son had a trial glider flight here last summer and loved it so much he went on to join the very reasonably priced and well run cadet scheme. The club is run by volunteers but all are highly professional and my son has had some fantastic experiences there already. Can't wait for him to be able to get back to gliding soon!

Going gliding was unlike any other experience I've ever had. So peaceful and yet thrilling at the same time. It was an amazing experience floating over the beauty of Cambridge. Everyone at the club is passionate about what they do and they love gliding. You can feel a great group energy and an extremely safe environment as soon as you arrive. If you have any doubts about experiencing gliding, they will go away on your first flight. You must try it. They make it a very simple and fun experience to start. A great and safe introduction to flying for kids and adults. Thank you again to everyone at the club.

This is a great gliding club; the people are welcoming and friendly, the environment and equipment is well maintained, and there is a strong emphasis on safety while still being fun. This club is more than deserving of the title “#1 thing to do in little Gransden”

I had a an amazing time flying with one of the pilots and had a chance of controlling the glider myself by following the instructions.

As long as you don’t get travel sickness, the Gliding Centre is perfect and, of course, very safe and well-kept. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting some high-flying action.

Had a fantastic morning enjoying gliding experience. Very friendly folk especially Mark my expert. Had two flights each with different take off. Had chance to take the controls for a short while. View spectacular but made by flying on the breeze with no engine noise.

Used an experience voucher for an extended gliding experience. Experienced aero tow, and winch launches, and got to take the controls on every flight. Instructor Ian was knowledgable, patient, and helped make a fantastic day.
