If you a driving between Derby and Stoke, take a detour to Cheadle to visit this example of Victorian Gothic Revival. Designed by A W N Pugin and financed the Earl of Shrewsbury, this church is beautiful but also a bit over the top.

Whether you are religious, into architecture or just passing through, this is a fantastic place to visit. You are able to light candles, with a donation to the church. It is open when there are no services scheduled. When you feel down, missing loved ones,...More

Definitely worth a visit. Completely in awe of the magnificent architecture, sculpture, majestic tiles and gilt finishing. Wonderful peaceful place whether you are religious or not, you can't help but soak up the atmosphere.

St Giles is a beautiful church. It has amazing architecture and a proud history. It's well signposted as Pugins Gem so it's easy to find and there is plenty of car parking on the main town car park which is only 5 minutes walk away.

Having heard about St. Giles church and being in the area it was a must visit. Excellent Pugin architecture and you can see his influence in other places as well. Very well maintained and a peaceful reflective place. Well worth a visit.

The church itself is incredible and should be seen by all. Was slightly let down by lack of information available on the history of the church though, but may have to return as I have heard there is a regular tour guide.
