It's an interesting museum but, like other reviewers, we found a large number of the interactive items broken which was very disappointing. Having said that, seeing the way that our future adult citizens in a school party treated them, it's surprising that anything at all...More

Thank you for your feedback; the Mersey Gateway Project is a fantastic addition to the attractions at Catalyst and we are most fortunate that they have funded the activity so it is free for the public to get information on the project and its progress....More

Great little place with plenty of hands-on experiments for younger kids to try out. Check out the workshops/presentations as well they are well worth the extra fee (£1.25) per person. Good outdoor play area and you can even feed the swans!

The Catalyst Museum is great and quite good value. Our children loved all the hands on science experiences, the puzzle room and the observatory at the top. We saw the demonstration about materials which was good but our 4 year old struggled to remain interested,...More

Had a great day. Wasn't sure what to expect on our first visit. Our 9 year old daughter had a great time, and so did we. Where else are most of the attractions hands on. Great view over the Mersey. Will definitely be visiting again!

Must see museum, the views from the viewing tower are fabulous (on a clear day) but still worth taking a look.

I went with my wife and 6 year old child and he had fun both with the interactive exhibits and the "materials" activity. It could be a really great science museum unfortunately most of the exhibits are really worn out/ damaged or out of order....More

The varied reviews already evident on Trip Advisor reflect that fact that Catalyst will not be to everyone's taste but I do think it will make a really good day out for some families, so my review is based on a conditional 4 star rating!...More

Went not expecting much but the kids loved it and so did we. Enjoyed the interactive exhibits and finding out all sorts of facts about the local area and environment. Was surprised it was so quiet on a dull day!

Yes, of course. There are some picnic tables outside near the playground, they are owned and managed by Halton Borough Council, not Catalyst but you can use them if you wish. Your ticket admits you all day so you could go... More
