I loved our mini llama trek, I attended with my husband and 2 children (2 and 5) and we walked with Jester, a llama, and Comet, an alpaca Comet was very gentle and polite, and careful not to step on my 2 yr old... he looked a little relieved when I put her in a carrier when she got tired. Jester was an entertaining character, they both walked very well. The gentleman that took us on our walk was very knowledgeable about llamas and alpacas and it was lovely hearing about them all and the therapy work that they do. We went on a rainy day and the walk was still very enjoyable, the llamas and alpacas are a joy to walk with. There wasn't a drink/snack at the end due to covid, which I didn't realise but was to be expected. And although I'd had a confirmation phone call I didn't know my trek had been changed to an hr earlier as I'd only had an email about it 23:30 the night before so hadn't checked, so it was all a bit of a rush finding out our trek was ready! I think this was due to the recent lockdown, so just maybe double check your time beforehand. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back for a longer trek one day…

We had the best time with Warrior, our Llama. He was a proud but very friendly animal and very easy to walk with. I expected the llamas to be more unruly but they were perfectly behaved and trained. We liked sharing a llama as it was more an experience we could share rather then walking in single file. Mark, our guide, was incredibly knowledgable and his passion for his job and the llamas well being was obvious. Would definitely recommend!…

We had a 2 hour trek around the pretty village of Melmerby. If you love animals, or like my wife, are slightly obsessed with llamas, this is a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours. The trek was well organised but relaxed - the llamas are serenely calm and quietly sociable. I really felt like I was getting to know the animals over the trek – I walked with a charming male called Cuba who grunted contentedly throughout. We had good weather, but I would have still enjoyed this in the rain. Our guide Mark was very engaging and provided much interesting information about llama behaviour and physical makeup. LLT clearly want you to enjoy the experience, not process you. It was an un-rushed and thoroughly enjoyable experience which we intend to repeat whenever we're near Penrith. My wife and I were still beaming for days after. Llamas rule.…

Booked a 2 hour countryside trek for family party of seven (3 adults 4 teenagers) at £45 each. Whilst they enjoyed it, it was a shorter experience than i expected from the website description. The actual trek was only 45/50minutes. Drinks and cakes were provided at the start and there was a good information talk. The establishment offered my group the option of walking in nearby fields rather the picturesque route described on the website. The mini trek involves a 30 minute trek which for £20 less per person seems much better value.…

We did the mini llama trek and the hour long animal encounter and we absolutely loved it! Our guide was very informative about all of the animals we came across. The walk was brilliant and well worth the price, couldn't believe how calm and friendly the llamas were. Can't wait to go back and do it again soon…
