A walk around the lake involved road, scrub, bracken, woods, bog and one slightly scary scramble over an outcrop or two. But amazing walk. Took us 5 hours for a 6 mile walk.

It seems silly writing a review of a lake but if you’re looking for somewhere to visit then this is a must. Beautiful scenery and outstanding landscape. Breathtaking. Take your camera!

Nice walk around a pretty lake. Park below Bowness Knott and use the wide path down the Eastern side of the lake. The Western side is a little more tricky underfoot with rocky path which can become very wet but the only difficult bit is...More

This could be a beautiful, peaceful place, but the water company is doing extensive work around one of the car parks, I believe Bleach Green, I would avoid this and walk from the other car park. The lake is lovely and dotted with little beaches....More

Lovely 6 mile walk round the lake . Mainly well trodden paths. Not hard work. A bit dodgy crossing anglers crag, Go equipped!

No. Car parking is free, but there are donation boxes. I always drop a couple of pound in if there a while
