A roaring fire is so welcome when you've just finished a wet and windy hike across the fells. The food was good, best we've had this trip and the staff were friendly and efficient. A little gem.

Visited for Sunday lunch after a good run out through and over the fells. Good menu selection for starters and main courses. All was served well and not overfilling on the plate just good portions. Will try and remember yo call again as its open all day for food. Great location way out in the valley.

This pub is located in a fantastic place in one of the nicest areas of the Lake District, we have eaten here several times and enjoy sitting outside in the summer, we visited around 3 weeks ago after a walk in a group of 10 with 3 small dogs, we were going to eat here as a group but the... More

First time we went we both had a plough mans and the chef made mine an all cheese one. The pickle was home made and very delicious. The second time we had a cream tea and although my mum makes the best scones, these scones were even better. If you are staying at the camp site you get 10% off... More

We dropped in here for a pre-dinner drink, having already booked to have our meal elsewhere. Rather a shame in a way, as the place is quite impressive inside and the specials menu certainly looked very interesting! We did though stay for two pints (an excellent range of real ales), served by very friendly staff. Definitely one for a future... More

Visited boot Inn while on an organised VW camping weekend. there were approximately 16 of us booked for a meal at the Boot Inn. There was a great atmosphere, very welcoming, and the food was wholesome and very good. They also welcome dogs and I think children! Would recommend it.

Not sure when this pub turned from being a down to earth, welcoming establishment, but the day we turned up with a young family, it felt like invading the reading room of a private members club. Tea and cake was offered outside on a menu, but inside there were a couple of bits of fruit cake and one sorry looking... More
