Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took a group of 20 of our Senior members aged 13-15 on a weekend residential at Kepplewray. The staff, activities, facilities and food were absolutely brilliant and our members had an incredible weekend! We're looking forward to our next visit already.

We stay at the Kepplewray Centre every May as part of a study abroad program. The staff are nothing short of amazing, and our stay at Kepplewray is a highlight for our students every year. It is located in a beautiful part of the Lakes, and our students find the opportunity to be in the Lakes, learn more about the area, and bond with each other to be invaluable. Cannot recommend the Kepplewray Centre highly enough! Also, their kitchen staff puts together a wonderful breakfast and dinner.

We had a trip away as part of our mentoring programme and had a group of around 20 Year 10 students. Although the weather was less than desirable, the instructors adapted the planned activities to ensure that the young people still got as much out of the experience. The instructors were friendly and worked well with us. The activity most enjoyed amongst the group was the crate stacking. The food and other refreshments were always nice and kitchen staff were also friendly and accommodating to anyone who was a pickier eater. Some areas of the centre require a little TLC but overall it was warm and clean.

Hello thank you for very much for the great review, we’re glad you enjoyed your time and we’re looking forward to your future visit.
We’re often refreshing bits of the Centre and equipment to keep it looking a bit smarter.

Over the past month or so I have taken 2 groups of students (a group of 50 and then a group of 65) from local University Christian Unions away for their annual 'Weekend Away' and have been blessed tobe able to hold them in the Kepplewray Centre.
The Centre & the Staff were extremely accomodating of all our needs, providing great food and accomodation at excellent prices, as well as finding more chairs when we needed them and accomodating more students when some inevitably booked-in late. Both times they generously helped us out with their 'participation inclusion fund' which enabled many students to come who otherwise would not have been able to afford the weekend, coming from low income backgrounds.
There are a couple little details that need attending to, such as some well used table tennis bats and pool cues that probably need a refresh, but overall our time at Kepplewray, was warm - both in physical heat and in the general atmosphere. I would highly recommened it for groups such as ours and any large group that would like time away in the Lake District together.

We have visited kepplewray 3 times this year and it was a fantastic way to bring our members together, stay connected and have some fun during what has been an extremely hard year with all the covid challenges. We all had a brilliant time and the memories and experiences will last a life time.
We saw so much development take place and would love to come back soon. All our members have Cerebral Palsy and some have other additional needs too, however all our needs were taken into account and we were looked after really well. Thank you to all the staff for welcoming us and helping us to create such special memories

Our small group came for the day and had a great time. The instructors were clear and helpful, they gauged the group well and the activities were suitable for all who attended.

We had an amazing day with Chris at the Kepplewray Centre! My little sister has Downs Syndrome so it was really brilliant that she could join in with all of the activities, completely inclusive, which is hard to find in our area.
We did archery, bush craft and canoeing around Coniston. Chris was lovely and very knowledgable about the bushcraft especially. Would highly recommend, we had the best day. Thank you so much, hopefully we’ll be back again soon!

The instructors were very friendly and the session was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole group! Though the weather was not ideal, the rock climbing and abseil locations provided easy climbing conditions despite the rain.

Stonyhurst College DofE Gold Assessment Expedition 10 - 15th October 2020.
This was our first time using the facilities of the Kepplewray Centre and we were especially fortunate that we could during these difficult and challenging times, to enable our students to complete their Gold DofE Expedition Assessment.
The students camped in the adjacent camping field and the staff located in the main building. This allowed for the students to undertake four journeys of significant length each day coming back to the facilities each evening (Allowance made by the DofE) therefore keeping the Spirit of the Award as close as we could during these extraordinary times.
The Centre and Staff, Neil, Jan, Nick and Kevin could not have been more helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, a warm and comforting environment in which to start the day and more importantly to end the day. We had everything one could hope for and we will certainly be looking to be booking in for next year to facilitate our next cohort of DofE Gold Award Students, especially for their practice/training.
It is without hesitation that I recommend the Kepplewray Centre and thank them once again for all their warmth and generosity.
Regards and best wishes
