I love this place and call in every time I'm in the area - there's always something to see or buy. It's a wonderful combination of artists and craftspeople at work, a restored old building, art gallery and shop. Just done lots of my Christmas...More

Some of the Mill is focussed on the building and the region's history, and a lot of it is given over to small units for art and craft workers. It was good to see some of the makers at work in their studios as well...More

We only planned to visit for a short time but ended up spending about 2 hours in the mill. There are 4 floors and on each one there are either demonstrations or models of the mill and its history. Everything is well labelled so you...More

All the workshop areas and shops are lovely,it took us about 3 hours to walk round and visit the cafe. The crafters were very encouraging and easy to talk to,the sections for people to try for themselves were good as well.

From the exterior this looks unattractive. However, what treasures can be found within. Enjoying crafts, floor three, the entrance floor which is free, has many examples of crafts, including many for sale and demonstrations. Jewellery, pottery, painting, knitting, weaving, sewing, woodcraft.....The staff seem knowledgable but...More

Lots of crafts on show here. The silversmith was very interesting and informative, also other craftspeople. Nice headroom too for a snack or light lunch.

An amazing place for doing some special shopping having about two dozen different crafts people making things there. The shopping choice is great and you can sometimes watch folk actually making things the old fashioned way.

Farfield Mill is 5 floors of delight for textile buffs or people wanting a hand-made high quality gift. The cafe/restaurant on the lowest floor offers a selection of meals and snacks utilising local produce.
