Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Corsica is not a very accessible region. The Scandola Nature Reserve can only be viewed from the sea. And the village of Girolata with the bay of the same name is also not accessible by transport. But you can walk! The only way to Girolata on foot is the "Postman's Trail", named after the local now deceased postman Guy Ciccaldi. He is everyone (!!!) day made this journey to deliver mail to the locals. Having rented a moped in Porto, I almost repeated the path of the famous Corsican postman. Ceccaldi was traveling from Partinello where the French Post office was located. You can park your moped or car in the parking lot at the Col de la Croix pass by turning off the D81 highway. It is 15 km north of Porto. The 7 km hike to Girolata takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Guy Ceccaldi did it in 45 minutes! I didn't have more than 4 hours (taking into account the trip from/to Porto) and I stopped half way at Tuara Beach. Completely empty, except for the yacht standing in the bay. The "Postman's Trail" doesn`t require special training, but it is necessary to make an effort, especially on the way back, when it is necessary to go uphill. There is a water source along the way, which is very useful, because its own water has a habit of running out quickly under the hot Corsican Sun.

The weather is very overcast on this day of hiking when I park in the parking lot of the Col de la Croix. Not too much heat.
For the hike itself, it is a 5/5: beautiful landscapes, walking alternating paths and rockier passages. Be careful, a lot of elevation gain, hiking not recommended to beginners or not used to walking. Provide supplies and plenty of water. The return, especially the last climb, seems difficult after the efforts already made: think about it before committing yourself.
I was a little disappointed by the village of Girolata: I found the beach not very clean. The small restaurants of the village are welcoming and offer beautiful views.
