Being married to a fan of real ale it was an instability that we visited Hawkshead Brewery. The venue is great as is the real ale (so I'm told) and the food was delicious - particularly the lentil dahl.

Worked my way through the beers and decided La’al lager was for me. Very dog friendly and informal. The food was uniformally good and reasonably priced. Worth a visit.

I booked ahead but the tourgiude said Friday's are usually quiet so if you wanted to go on a Friday you would probably be ok not to book. Booking is very easy though!
