Now open in our new location. We have a vastly improved exhibition area for you to learn about the life and work of Stan Laurel, with many information boards, personal items and pictures to see. Our cinema area can accommodate around 30 people, showing films and documentaries all day. This is the first phase of our expansion plans with new things being added all the time. The Laurel and Hardy Museum in Ulverston began as the private collection of Bill Cubin, a lifelong fan. Now being run by his grandson, we hope to entertain and inform you about the worlds' best loved double act.

New display recently opened. The museum began life as private collection, a wonderful jumble of memorabilia. Our new display attempts to recreate that feeling. A small room packed to the gills with pictures, statues, mugs, records, anything and everything to do with The Boys.

Visited museum on Thursday 23rd March - not particularly a Laurel and Hardy fan but museum is packed with some interesting facts and pictures together with an area set up as a cinema to show old footage (museum is formed from part of the local cinema)..

This museum is run by local enthusiasts. Everything is well presented with a lot to read and see. Films are run throughout the day so will be sure to experience who Laural and Hardy were if like most are not too young. We were greeted by a charming young man wearing the obligatory Fez full on enthusiasm for the museum.... More

Visited with my husband who is more of a fan than myself but have to admit loved this place. Very friendly. The man running it was obviously a keen enthusiast. Lots of interesting history and memorabilia. Especially enjoyed watching short films on the small cinema screen set up.

Great fun. Informative. Helpful staff. If you like the boys you'll enjoy a visit here. Great to have time to sit and enjoy some classic Stan and Ollie.

This is a fabulous, inexpensive resource for introducing the uninitiated, younger generation and global visitors to a national institution, local pride and excellent example of the early film industry, both educational and entertaining.

Visited this little curiosity back in the day when the late Bill Cubin had it in the old premises. The new location in basement of picture house is much better space wise..Staff were friendly and helpful...It was great to go round the exhibits and see the rise and fall of these two comic greats...DICK UND DOOF..(thick and stupid) as they... Been to the laurel and hardy museum so many times, I can't remember how many. Used to take coach passengers and they all loved it. Mark knows so much about the duo. Love that you can go in and watch the film's. So much stuff. Fantastic.

A museum in the birth town of Stan laurel, it is very entertaining and informative. The museum was started by Billy twin tubs. Not named aft ear his stomach but the fact he had the shop in Town that first sold washing machines of that type. His dedication to the famous pair L & H has resulted in a fine... More

I've watched a few Laurel and Hardy films and I appreciate their artistry, the first part of the museum was great for letting me know a little more about the famous duo, their roots and their style of comedy. Their works show all day on a small cinema screen in the museum, which was lovely to sit down to for... More
