Plenty of parking and decent paths to walk round, in some places cycles and walkers routes are separate. Mostly not very near to the water for conservation reasons. Plenty of bird hides. Good information centre and decent cafe and restaurant. Outside seating available.More

We didn’t manage the full walk, we walked to a marker than turns back. The views were beautiful with multiple hides / vistas for bird watching. The paths were bumpy with the buggies - sent the babies off to sleep! The cafe food was tasty...More

Relaxing stroll around the left hand side of Carsington water, not as busy in December and a real treat, well worth a walk a drink and to feel the wind whipping around you in December.More

We did the rounds today, we started at the playground, then moved onto the interactive "bug killing " game in the exhibition area, round the shops, up for some lunch and then round the "stones island". Great fun!

Visited as the base for our published, circular walk from Carsington to Brassington. Although we parked in the wrong car park (the main visitor centre not the one adjacent to Carsington) it gave us the chance to visit the water and visitor centre, although the...More

Great place, lots of water if that’s what you are after. Looks like they are storing the stuff. Shame about the big wall holding all the water back.
