Make sure by visiting website before you go to ensure all the features of this attraction are open on the day you want to visit. Melbourne Hall is magnificent in its splendour and a real piece of English heritage. The grounds are superb and the law is a sight to behold with an array of different species of ducks and... More

Despite this being nearly on my doorstep, I had never been until today and goodness me - what a fabulous surprise ! We walked past the Melbourne hall and around the lake which turns into a trail through woodland. Have not seen such a variety of ducks for such a long time and the views across the lake were stunning.... More

The Friday Foragers needed a drink and some cake so we called in at the cafe hear and were delighted with the homemade stuff on offer here. The service was courteous and attentive so we would think about returning. The craft shop also had lots of fascinating stuff.

the lady who guided us around was really interesting and informative. she clearly knew much about the house and its history. tour covers only the ground floor unless you prebook as the family still live there..it takes an hour but it went quickly. the gardens are well worth a walk round and the Robert Bakewell birdcage arbour is stunning. all... Melbourne Hall is a very interesting house in a beautiful setting. We had booked the guided tour several weeks prior to visiting and were looking forward to hearing more about the Hall, the family and the collection of paintings, glass and other items of interest. It quickly became apparent that our tour guide had what I could only call a... More

Taken round by an elderly lady who added to the quirkiness of the whole place. You only get to see the ground floor, the guide hadn't been upstairs in all the years she'd been doing the job. Place could do with some TLC.

We were really disappointed with the tour of this beautiful house, once home of Lord Melbourne, Queen Victoria's first Prime Minister. There were too many people included, so viewing some of the artefacts was difficult. The timing of the tours meant that we had to wait in some rooms for previous and subsequent tours to move. The guide was really... More

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and after enjoying a sandwich in the tearooms we had a wander through the gardens. There were not too many plants to see but lots of lawn, statues and ponds. It was very peaceful which made it lovely to walk around. A great spot for some peace and quiet.
