Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I keep coming back here. Sadly it seemed someone had fly-tipped a pile of concrete right in the entrance, which reduced the available parking a bit. Still I liked the inspirational message written on the blocks.
The old quarry itself is still an excellent place to visit and worth the trip.

Roadside parking near junction of Peat Lane and Spout Lane where grass verge is wide enough for several cars. On a nice day there are clear views South to Loughborough! Nice footpaths and quiet lames to Idridgehay (an hour).

The views are superb and there are some great walks on quiet lanes and public footpaths. We too were disappointed to find the car park closed, as there is very little parking on the narrow lanes nearby. Surely the National Trust could provide a gate which is locked at night, and some litter bins? It would also be a good place to enjoy a coffee or an ice cream, if the NT could get a local business interested. Without the car park, there is no way for those who are less mobile to enjoy the views.

How dare they close it off, its our affix Alport Staffords, as we lived below in the 90's it's a magnificent place and seems a load of tosh to close it off, it can of course be bitter up there, so to sit in your vehicle and take the views in is exhilarating. Made it unsafe now for people to park anywhere near. I would be contesting the closure as its a natural beauty spot for the public to visit.

not a big place ok if you want just to go for a picnic.
no toilets shops or cafes.
car park was closed off but if you go just past the entrance on the left there's a pull in just enough space for one car to reverse in.
some great views on a sunny day but it was over cast the day we went.
ok for a quick visit but besides that a short stay is enough.

Just to say the Car park was closed due to antisocial behaviour recently !
You can still walk onto the site through footpaths .

I would never usually gove Alport Heights (yes, it is Heights) a 'Poor' rating, but when my wife and I drove there today their car park entrance was blocked. The official National Trust sign simply stated that the car park was closed, which was evident with the concrete blocks preventing access to the site.

I have no idea why the car parl is closed; they could be doing maintenance or it could be due to Covid-19, but I hope that the car park is re-opened as soon as possible.

The site is well worth a visit, when you can get there, from which there are fantastic views over at least three counties. There are numerous walks around the area, which are also worth exploring.

This has been one of my favourite places since childhood. The views are breathtaking on a clear day. The gorse is scented, when in full flower, and the vista really is heaven on earth. However, lots of litter at the moment and painted graffiti on the stone which is a shame.

It is a great place to relax with fantastic 360 degree views being available to those who walk a few yards. There is a small quarry and rocks for children to explore. Plenty of space to exercise dogs. Plus one can watch motor cross to the south of the area during the summer months when there is a meeting on.

I brought my dogs for a walk there and it was absolute heaven. Its for everyone to enjoy and take stunning photos or sit and relax.

One small point is that sadly some idiots had been throwing rubbish out of their cars in one of the carparks and there was some broken glass, there are no bins around but people really should be respectful and take their rubbish home.
I filled a bag with some and did just that.
