Loved the Dino barn. Well maintained but need better staffing for food stalls
Clean, queues were well managed for attractions. Toilets clean and well stocked. However, queues for food stalls were long and hardly any staff available. Returned clubs and balls for crazy golf and waited ages to get my deposit. Woman who I asked was rude ( I had waited patiently for a while so wasn't being difficult!). Play areas were well maintained and great fun. Most staff were polite and friendly. Dino barn was Amazing!!! Kids loved it!!
Thank you for your recommendation. We are sorry that you had to wait for your golf equipment deposit. The queue to the left of the till is for returns. We will look at clearer signage so food and drink orders do not delay other customers. Glad you enjoyed the rest of your visit!

    Lovely animals
This was a first time visit to this lovely place as I'd been given a Meerkat experience as a birthday gift. With it being Easter Sunday, we expected it to be very busy but as we had an experience booked, you have your own entrance into the park, which was an unexpected gift! It also meant that we were one of the first few through the door, so being able to look at the animals without being squished was a lovely thing. I was happy to find that the animals all had decent sized areas to roam around in. And then I had the Meerkat experience, which was amazing. Such incredibly busy little creatures. Sitting in their enclosure, I had all three (mum, dad & daughter) running up and down my legs for their live grubs I'd been given to feed them. It was a truly wonderful experience, one that I'd love to do again. This is a lovely place, more catered for the children and the adventure side with some lovely animals as a bonus.
Thnak you for spending time with our meerkats lady_britts. Thrilled that you approve of the new enclosures!

    Amazing day out
Visited for my son's birthday as a family of four with 2 boys aged 9 and 5. We were one of the first in and stayed until closing time, there is so much to do! My 9year old is getting to the age where he can start getting bored at some farms etc however absolutely loved it here and can't wait to go back. There is plenty of picnics space, we did take a packed lunch bit also purchased a few ice creams and hot drinks throughout the day which were reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our boys loved pretty much all of it but went crazy for the dinosaur play area which is fab! They also really enjoyed the castle playground and the cannon arena. We visited as we were staying locally and live around 75 miles away but will most definitely be visiting again as the journey is definitely worth it.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We look forward to your next visit!

    A great day out
I went with my daughter and grandsons (12 and 13). We had a lovely time. It was very busy but didn't feel like it. The site is very clean and has a lot of activities mainly included in the entrance. I loved the animals and I really enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes experience.
Thank you for assisting the great Sherlock Holmes. Together you cracked the case. We hope you will visit again!

A beautiful place to row the boat, close meeting with the animals, and see the huge play area!
It's an amazing place, such a lovely place. There is so much to do. We needed more time to explore, and we definitely needed a day to enjoy the animals, the river, the huge castle, and many more! Its very clean, peaceful place with many things to do. We loved how close you can get to some of the small animals. The river, rowing the boat, was fun and peaceful, and the play area was huge. The best I have seen so far. I can see the workmanship on these wooded buildings are impressive . However, unfortunately, we didn't experience a warm welcome from few of the staff. Thankfully, we met two staff members who were either supportive or glad you were there. . Which was a Shane as they sort of spoiled the aspects of the day. Maybe we might go back with another family and see if it was just the some of staff having a bad day?
Thank you for your review Leas727272. We are very grateful for your observations about the park. We are glad that our team, albeit some individuals who forgot their manners, made you feel welcome. We hope you will visit again!

Great value fun family day out
This is a really great day out with plenty of different things to do, whatever the weather. Knockhatch never fails to give our family loads of fun and entertainment. The children are always excited to go. The staff are great and there are endless things to do, whatever the weather. This is a day out that really is a full day, and great value compared to other local things to do.
Thank you so much for your review J3885VQhelenh. We look forward to your next visit!

    Amazing visit
Really enjoyed our visit today, everyone else in our group had been before but it was my first visit. The sherlock Holmes experience was very good scary at times but so funny, certainly made me jump. The animals looked well looked after and happy. Toilets were all clean and well kept. The groups youngsters loved everything especially the water slide and climbing wall. Cafe was very reasonable in price. Staff were very good , patient with the younger group members . The parl was clean and tidy constantly seeing staff litter picking . Will certainly be visiting again. Good value for what you pay ,arrived at 12 and left at 5.30 .
Thank you for your review lesleygray. We look forward to your next visit. If you think Sherlock is scary now ... wait for October half term. The Hound of the Baskervilles will return!

    Nearly perfect!
We visit annually with friends and the children always have a fab time. Never feels crowded and there's always plenty to do. The park is immaculate (we've always found the loos are clean and tidy) and the animals look very well cared for. The animal and ride staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. We always find the catering outlets are woefully understaffed and understandably the skeletal staff are working non-stop, totally stressed-out and really grumpy! Long queues in Froggies and always running out of ingredients. If there could be several more members of staff on the catering side during lunchtime it would be perfect!
Thank you for your review prettyinpink2016. We have ongoing recruitment for catering staff and will continue to look for ways to improve. We hope that you enjoy the menu items we have introduced this year. We look forward to your next visit.

Mediocre, probably wouldn’t visit again with a 4 year old
A very expensive day out for mediocre activities. Went with my 4 year old and a lot of the stuff she was too small for. The best bits cost yet more money on top of an already expensive ticket price. A lot looks dated and run down. There’s no where to sit and see the children when they’re playing in froggies, it’s all round to the side which when it’s busy is no good. Food is expensive and mediocre.
Thank you for your review NickiM. We are always updating our attractions, rides, enclosures and fences. There are a few attraction upgrades including the Build-a-saurus , Donkey Derby and Face Painting which are run by local businesses. However, with the Jungle Kingdom, Children's Farm, Jungle Splash, Dragon Castle, Chestnut Wood Adventure Play there is loads for a 4 year old to experience. We hope you feel able to visit ogain with your daughter.

Expensive but a fun day out
Expensive but excellent day out for 4 kids aged 6-49! Plenty to do, we had a job to fit everything in. The trick was to avoid the queues on some of the more popular things, either do them early or come back to them later in the day if possible. Shame the high-wires (go-ape style thing) was out of action, but the water slide was impressive, as was the dragon castle!
Thank you for your review thebin16. There are online savings to make the visit even more affordable. The Dragon Castle High Ropes are going to be redeveloped. Instead the Cstle Rock climbing wall is now included in park entry. The Wave Runner is impressive. So much so even the Sidemen & KSI featured it in their road trip YouTube video!

My son was on the spider climbing frame and fell from the top of the frame to the bottom. Cutting the back of his head open on the way down!

The paramedics were called by my wife as the centre did the minimum to support. The paramedics glued his head to stop the bleeding.

No one followed up from Knockhatch to see how he was and getting a response from them is non existent!!

Late review from us we visited in August with our 5 year old son and his cousin who was visiting us from Gloucester. We had a brilliant time made a full day out. So much to do it was hard to fit it all in. Can’t rate the day highly enough. To top it off I had lost my wallet at the park and never thought I would see it again. But today 20th December a lovely man from Knockhatch hand delivered it to me at my house absolutely going above and beyond. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back for another visit soon.

We are annual pass holders, and have been cooking form some time. For what you get it's a reasonable price. It can be busy, but all places will be. However there is one issue since an 'upgrade'. The carpark! It is absolutely useless for family cars! Whomever designed and spaced it needs some lessons in real life! If you have two zafira cars parked next to each other you cannot open the doors! The spaces are that tight. Why redesign it this way when it's obvious only families will be coming to this sort of place! We heard 10's of people saying exactly the same thing. Loose 2/3 spaces a row and allow people to get in and out easily without damaging other cars. Two MPV can't park next to each other. It's to the point we now arrive 40 mins early to get an end of asile parking spot, and ignore the 'parkers' telling you where to park.

Thank you for your review P2977QZthomasj. The new hard standing car park has increased our number of disabled bays and capacity. We are sorry to read that you do not feel the spaces are large enough. The bays meet the current UK norm for parking spaces which is 2.4 metres wide by 4.8 metres long. We hope that you enjoy your next visit!

I was disgusted today to arrive at knockhatch with my disabled child with our annual pass specifically for a child with a disability to then be told we had to stand in a 30 minute queue to get in.

Knockhatch is the only place not to let those with disabilities bypass queues.

As a result I had to carry a large 8 year old for 30 mins to try and support her with her anxiety and dysregulation. By time we entered the park she was distressed, dysregulated and highly anxious.

When I questioned their policy of everyone having to queue I was told they can't let some people skip the queue as people can buy carers cards online then pretend their child has a disability to skip the queue.
I pointed out we couldn't have bought our disability annual passholder membership without evidence of a disability. The manager just kept repeating her original point which didn't even make any sense as if they ask for the correct proof no one can pretend their child has a disability. Who would even do this?

If you can prove yourself or your child has a disability you shouldn't have to queue. This to me says that Knockhatch don't actually care if those with disabilities visit during busy times as they are clearly making enough money. They have a play park designed for those with special needs and great facilities. Is this all fir show that they are 'inclusive' as they actually fail to meet the simple needs of those who need their help.

Taking disabled children out is difficult and stressful enough for families , it certainly shouldn't be made harder for them.

Thank you for writing a review. We are sorry to read that access to the park caused hardship for yourself and your daughter. We do have a dedicated Annual Pass queue and apologise that it can be congested during busier times. We hope to ease this for all our customers in the future with a new ticket gateway. The facilities you have mentioned are a result of our visitors and members requests. We want everyone to have a fun day out.

We visited Knockhatch to do the Meet the Meerkats Experience. The experience was very enjoyable. Mark, the keeper, was informative and told us about the meerkats and the other animals in that part of the park. We got to feed the meerkats, have them climb over us and watch them play. There were only 4 people doing the experience, which meant that we had at least one meerkat near/on during most of the time. At the end we were also given a certificate.

We also watched the owl display, which, although small, was also very informative. The keepers were telling us about how they train the owls and about their characteristics.

It was quiet the day we went as it was during school time, so when walking around the farm area the animals were all coming over to us for attention. This was a nice experience as well.

One strange occurance during our visit was that we bought ice cream from the cafe and were told they were unable to sell 2 scoops of icecream in a cone, but could in a pot.

I would definitely reccommend visiting Knockhatch for the meerkat experience.

We took our 3 year old here for a day out whilst on holiday. We left Knockhatch feeling quite disappointed. We went on a Saturday so paid the full price of £20.99, which is what we also had to pay for our 3 year, so £60 in total for 3 of us, then my in laws joined so that was a grand total of £100. The girl at the entrance (smile!!!) asked 'any extras?', to which we said no, not really knowing what the extras are and assuming everything was included...

Firstly, we were hit with very unpleasant drain smell at the entrance so that could do with investigating.

The animals were ok, but not in one area as expected, they were sort of amongst everything else and dotted about the park. I understand that there is the farm section, jungle section but it would make more sense to have the animals all in one area, and the activities in another.

The 'rides' and activities are terrible for the ticket price. It's basically an overpriced play park and soft play, the trampolining and go carts etc are at an extra cost, pretty naff when you've paid £21 pp to get in. My daughter has done nothing different from our local play park or mini merry-go-round at a shopping centre. The adults can't get involved in any of the activities as you would at other places similar to Knockhatch. Expect a lot of supervising as opposed to joining in.

The whole place feels a bit 'muddled' and like it's lost it's way a bit. There is a slide in the middle of the jungle bit?!? As mentioned earlier, it's all a bit split up and all over the place. Of course no children were paying any interest in any of the animals as they were next to some soft play or play area, or slides and water-play features amongst it.

Also, take a picnic, my in-laws had donuts for lunch at nearly £10.

My 3 year old enjoyed it and it is for them, but it's just an overpriced play park. I wouldn't class it as a family day out and I wouldn't return.

Thank you for your review RebeccaLN89. We are pleased to hear that your 3-year-old enjoyed their time at Knockhatch. Our aim is to provide a fun and memorable experience for children, but we also want to ensure that the whole family can have an enjoyable day out. We have introduced the Honey Pot Bear ride and Dino Drop to ensure families can do more together. We are sorry to read that you didn't like the Meerkat Slide. It allows the rider a unique view of the meerkats. The Jungle Kingdom has been designed to be both educational and fun. Six freshly cooked doughnuts are £4.99. There are online discounts when you pre-book, so please do consider this if you ever visit again.

Took my 3 year old daughter whilst on holiday in the area. I felt completely ripped off to be honest.
We were excited to see trampolines that my daughter loves, but we were expected to pay 4 pounds on top of the 20pp we had spent getting in.
The rest of the day was just spent watching my daughter on a play park or supervising her in soft play.
The layout is poor and seems set up to cause conflicts with your child. I took my daughter round the animals but then we encounter a play park in the middle of it, i took her for food but have to battle her off the soft play in the same area as the food. Unlike other similar attractions I just couldn’t seem to find an area of peace to sit and look at animals or enjoy lunch without there being some other activity to tempt my daughter. It’s important to have areas away from all the play activities.
All of this and there is very little you can actually enjoy with your child, yet adults are expected to pay the same price! If the entry were half the price id have given a better score, but the price in relation to the activities is extortionate.

Thank you for your review Nockie12. We are an adventure park and have several picnic areas, of course our play grounds, rides and animals are all on view. The Owl display field has benches and is a quiet area when the shows are not on. From there you can see the Jumping Pillows, which are included in entry, the bungie trampolines are an attraction upgrade. We are investing in family rides so all of our customers can enjoy playtime together. This year we have opened the Honeypot Bear Ride, Dino Drop and the Jungle Splash. There are online savings when you pre-book and after 3.30pm entry is half price. We hope you feel able to visit again as your daughter gets older.

It's one of the few places where there's something new every time. The money made appears to be put back in to the park and that's a great ethos! We hope to be supporting Knockhatch for years to come!
