    Good afternoon out
Park and view great value for money. £32 for 4 adults and a toddler and parked right next to the racecourse. Even the family who don’t like horses enjoyed the experience. Little park for kids too which is good for between races.

    Nice Day Out
We went to Thirsk Racecourse to see the race horses. The food and drinks where very expensive and not very easy places to eat and drink, especially on a cold windy day like when we went. We really enjoyed watching the horses zoom past us.

All in all.... just what was needed.
Had a great weekend, that even the awful weather could not dampen. Stayed in the motorhome on the Racecourse and had Saturday at the races. The site itself is great and well placed to potter into town, when the racing is on you have to move over to the rally field, which is quite a walk back to the course entrance as there is no cut-thro or short cut, on/off course. If it had not been torrential rain, we would probably have just sat in some chairs at the edge, without bothering going in the course... but where is the fun in that!? Great flat, well drained grass pitch. Tesco & Aldi on the doorstep and a good chippy round the corner. Had a nice Sunday lunch in the town with an afternoon tea, after a nice walk. All in all.... just what was needed.

Fantastic racecourse but for the price you pay for a pint nearly £7 it should be a decent pint and not warm ,had to return my first pint as it had s foul taste to it went to the other bar and pint was warm , shame really but won’t put us off visiting again never had a problem in the past not sure if it was because it was the last meeting maybe ?

A nice if 2nd level day of racing, could have done with more indoor seating, and a better choice of catering, but despite the weather we had a good day

Dine and View......
The race course grounds were kept in excellent condition ,staff outside the Dine and view were all friendly and professional .
Dine and view experience was the worst we've ever had .
My parents in law paid for a table of 6 @ÂŁ125 pp ....the service seemed shambolic at best with most front of house staff unaware of how to take orders ,clear tables ect .
Being gluten free used to be a chore(5 years ago @!,) when eating out but even local cafes served a better gf selection than I was presented . The afternoon tea was awful it was all very processed and just put on a plate (like a toddlers lunch...)
Compared to the other diners afternoon teas it was terrible .
So if you decide to visit the racecourse I would give any Dine and view area a miss totally overpriced, terrible gf selection .

Lovely country course, parking close and easy. It is a short walk from Thirsk itself.
We were in the premier enclosure which was let down by wrong information being given regarding dining. We were told that no booking would be necessary, until we arrived and one of the venues was closed and consequently the only choice was a cafe type place with “platters”. Staff most obliging as only one left so organised one each for our party.
ÂŁ70 for 2, crazy price, certainly for the vegetarian option. Although the meat and fish choices were more value for that amount. Prossecco ÂŁ45, for a bottle!
It was a beautiful day so not entirely ruined

A good day out despite the rain - which I blame no one for…. The staff controlling general and area entry were uniformly cheerful and helpful. The large screen TV was quite brilliant - and the horse I own a tiny part of was a winner. Great afternoon.

Only 4*? Well it’s 2023 but asking for a decaffeinated coffee was like speaking a different language - note to operators…….

A great race course, not overpriced for entry. Plenty of bars and eateries, but as always food and drink on the pricey side. The champagne bar has seats inside by the window . Plenty of screens and sitting areas. A reallly great day out

This was a Friday meeting in August and we had a great time. It was circus themed and, although we didn’t have any kids with us, it was clear the ones that were there we are having a wonderful time with face painting, balloon animals and so on.

It created a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The entry was a reasonable £15 each and the food and drinks concessions were fairly priced as well. They were well manned as well which was great as it meant you didn’t have to wait a long time to get served.

There are plenty of bookmakers and the viewing was excellent with big screens and plenty of room in the stands.

A special mention for the musician who entertained between races near the bandstand. He really was excellent and played some interesting, great tunes rather than the usual fodder churned out at other race courses.

Well done indeed to the management who have got this place running like clockwork.
