Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I found myself in Wellingborough with an hour to kill yesterday after missing my train by a couple of minutes. I decided to go check out the little r'ale house(still open, despite the work going on at the station!) and was pleasantly surprised by this tiny, but friendly and well-stocked pub! I had a nice chat with the landlord and a couple of regulars over a pint of cider before going on my way.
I will definitely go back if I find myself in that neck of the woods again!

What a great spot, a new found favourite micro pub. They don't get much better than this! Was coming for a quick pint and stayed for 3. Great service and beer, knowledgeable and friendly staff, thanks Rob! Great afternoon spent. Would highly recommend.

The Little R'Ale House is a real ale bar next to the station. Beer is of a good quality and reasonably priced. Good selection of real ales with discount for CAMRA Members.

My wife & I popped in here today. We were pleasantly welcomed by the Landlady & the friendly customers. A nice selection of Ciders, Ales, Wines & Spirits. It's not every train station that has a pub like this👍🏼

Popped in here after just missing our train, and glad we did. Lovely welcoming staff and regulars who made the downpour outside less miserable. Genuinely considered missing another.

When I entered the pub, I entered with a carrier, the bar person made a comment about me taking the pet gold fish for a walk, straight away I said he was a pet rat, so I thought all was fine. After ordering a drink and them finding out my pet rat was really a pet rat and not a joke, my money was taken, my drink was tipped away, and I was asked to leave because I was barred. I was told by the bar tenders the only good rat is a dead rat, I was told environmental health would say the same. I know a few people who work for environmental health who wouldn't agree to this because let's be honest environmental health are well educated, unlike the bar tenders of this pub. A pet rat is not a wild rat. I was called an array of abusive words, these where completely unnecessary, I am not a "pisshead", a "nutjob" or "a f***ing freak". I am a human being who happens to be autistic, so no I do not exhibit normal behaviours, calling an autistic person a "f***ing freak" is really not okay. Treating someone with autism in this way is disgusting, they could have polite asked me to leave with out the name calling and the other verbal abuse derivatives.

When you came in, the rat was in a carrier. You asked for a drink, which was in the process of being served when I looked up to see the rat on your shoulder, to which I objected. I requested the rat be returned to the carrier. You were NOT barred, but requested to take the rat and drink outside, which you declined. Your money duly returned. The drink was not tipped away, but consumed by myself as I had no intention of wasting a pint of Guinness. At no stage were you told the only good rat was a dead rat. Although had a few of our regulars been there after their dog walk, that may have been an unfortunate consequence. You were NOT referred to by any of the terms you mention. As for our respect for customers on the autistic spectrum, we have more than a few who will dispute your opinion, In your subsequent message, which you blocked me from responding, you advised that the incident had been recorded and uploaded to YouTube, in which case we'd love to compare it with our own CCTV record.

Two friends and I visited this pub yesterday - it's so nice and quaint. For such a small place, the choice of drinks is fab. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and we met some lovely people. It's definitely worth a visit.
