I have visited Irchester a few times when in the area with my dog and it has always been pleasant. Obviously can be busy on a weekend but I have found it easy to find quiet paths to follow and my dog always seems to enjoy himself!

Great little find and worth the 50 mins drive. For all the park offers was well worth the parking fee. Great facilities and loads of stuff dotted around for the kids to play on and explore. Also perfect for a hot day if you seek shade because most of it is in wood land.

The park was easy to find, and paths were clean - but not always well signposted!
We enjoyed our walk, a good way to exercise and do look out for the orchids!

The park is scenic and was a great day out for the family, with forest surrounded play areas for children and plenty to discover I would recommend, that being said the visit was tarnished by the rude service delivered by the counter staff at the quarry mans rest cafe situated in the park, the staff said loudly as we approach “naw mate were closed tell them hahah” this was said by a dark haired girl wearing glasses to her colleague a blonde girl with a tattoo on her neck, who did serve us politely, afterwards whilst we sat drinking we saw another couple of people approach and everyone hid out the back area and the rude attendant dark haired girl just laughed about it and eventually the two young teens walked away looking confused and embarrassed.
Would strongly recommend hiring new staff as unprofessional and very childish.

We went to Irchester Country Park today and having looked at reviews we thought we had to get coins to pay for parking based on reviews here and the parks own website. However the car parking machines now take contactless card payments. Would suggest to arrive early as it got very busy quickly and by 11am the overflow car parks were nearly full.

We visited here for the first time in over a year. They have added new play areas since we lasted visited, which were much appreciated by the children. We were in wellies. Some path way is war and some parts very muddy. Well maintained and virtually no dog mess. We visited early and no issues with distancing or parking. Will look forward to visiting again, hopefully in the sunshine.

My daughter and I met at the park to take a walk together - Covid distancing -
parked and paid. Then we discovered many paths dangerous to walk being
inches deep in slippery watery mud. Why are there no warnings on the website ?
The Met. Office gives weather warnings daily. Why cannot the Park post up
poor walking conditions warnings ? I saw small children with clothing caked in
mud, no doubt from losing their footing. Further, although I'd printed a map,
following our chosen route was hampered by no posted coloured way signs.
It may be delightful at the height of summer. It certainly is not at this time of
year, early January. Even so, parking charges must be netting a lot of money.

I was very impressed by the walks and activities at Irchester. We met up with family for an outdoor day out as they are in a tier 2 region, and in spite of very damp weather we had a lovely day. The trees were beautiful and the area allocated for den building was great fun. As well as a lovely big playground at the central area, we found other playgrounds and activities around the walks and particularly liked the dinosaurs. Our grandchildren enjoyed the high ropes courses and I liked the fact that there were so many options for different ages and abilities and that they seemed to be able to have as long as they liked -- I don't know if that's the same on a sunny day. The little cafe was clean and efficient and offered a good range of snacks and hot drinks and the marquee meant we could sit in the dry. Altogether, it made a great day out!

I understand there is an alternative entrance near the church does anyone know how I can access this as walking to the main entrance and parking at 4pounds a day just to walk the dog is rather expensive at the end of the week. Many thanks

How far from the car park is the bridge (suspension bridge?) where you can see the views from? Never been before. Whats the best way to walk from the car left or right?

It's not far but having said that depends on which carpark you use.

Hi, we would like to take a gazebo at the weekend to set up for a small family picnic, are there areas to do this and would it be acceptable?
Many thanks, Claire.

No idea at all...sorry.
Thought parking was expensive unless staying for a day.
Are all dogs kept on leads?

No they must be on a lead in the public areas near the eateries if they are not well behaved but that's common sence. My dog loves going there it's her morning walk/run lol. Hope that helps.
can i come with dog?

Yes you can. Standard procedures of course. Great with a dog as you can go a lot of different ways.
