Just had our first visit to the George pub. Cracking little village pub, food was excellent, great service. Great choice of drinks including some great local ales. Typical village pub with a dart board, cards , games , good local people. Not a 5 star...More

Stopped off here en route to Lincoln, highly recommended, beautiful country pub with very friendly barstaff, great beer and good food. I had a pint of Nethergate Suffolk bitter and the chile con carne, not the biggest portion but delicious, great chips too, the ale...More

First and foremost, this is a proper village pub, and a very good one it is too, but those seeking fine dining in smart surrounding should undoubtedly pass it by. For me, however, the place is ideal; everything I want from a pub: a great...More

I am somewhere between 3 & 4 stars....the food is good and reasonably priced but the dining area is a bit 'tired'. So I would give the food a 4 and the venue a 3. On the plus side the staff are friendly and polite.

The strong points are real ale and chatty place. The food was adequate but uninspiring though the chips were pretty good. The pub is well off the beaten track.

Have been told by several people what a great pub this is, and they weren't wrong, good selection of ales, helpful and friendly staff and well accepted by the locals. A place I will certainly visit again. Check it out.

This place is really an oasis in a desert of also-ran pubs. It has an immensely warm and welcoming feeling as you walk through the door and it stocks a wide range of excellently kept real ales. The owners really deserve full marks for keeping...More

We were looking for a typical English pub for our French guest to experience on the way back from Towcester. It was certainly unpretentious, populated by locals whiling away an overcast Sunday lunchtime and had some good beers, but the food was ordinary for the...More

This friendly pub in a small village offers five great beers with two coming from the nearby Great Oakley Brewery and three from other breweries, usually from a few miles away - Vale from Aylesbury is a regular supplier. As well as the superb beer...More
