Cold cold cold
Jun 2021 • Solo
Cold spa again, colder than normal water temperatures throughout, cold showers afterwards. Not told on booking or check in. The damage this will be doing tourism is shameful. Council need to fix the infrastructure and Belgravia need to lift there game.

Terrible business
Jul 2020
This business is seriously terrible. Not only did they fail to honour a $200 voucher after 10 months, but they allowed a camera crew into the public bathing area when I was there, and they were filming the public without anyone asking our permission. Honestly—it's such a shame that this business is so poorly run. This could be a wonderful local amenity, but is in fact somewhere that I actively discourage people from visiting.

Left a little
May 2021
I visited the bathhouse for Sanctuary bathing. I usually go for the private bathing, but was excited to try this experience. However I found it quite underwhelming for the price. I appreciate we are living in COVID and respecting social distancing etc, however the sauna and steam rooms had limits of one-two people or same family units (which makes sense) but there we many people, so the chances of relaxing and moving freely between zones was zero. I was excited to get one of the 4 spa lounges after waiting a turn, only to get on and for it to be faulty, missing a head support. The experience was for one hour, I left after 30 mins. Given the circumstances and cost, the facilities need to be in good order. I only really got to use two zones out of five cause of limits and equipment. The salt pool is devine though. I would go back again for the private bathing and maybe consider the Sanctuary bathing in the future.

Relaxed
May 2021 • Couples
My husband and I booked a mud bath as this was something we haven’t experienced before. The staff where all lovely, we had lovely tea before our bath which was a nice touch, the atmosphere was relaxed, and quiet. We had a private room and a large mineral bath and mud to put on your body. We both felt very relaxed after 45 min bath, and we even did a walk through the area near the spa which was worth doing.

Hi Jenny, we're glad you enjoyed your mud bath experience and the staff are amazing. We're glad you felt relaxed and the private baths are a great way to experience 100% pure natural mineral water the region is known for. Walking through the reserve is amazing and certainly recommended. Thanks for sharing your visit and lovely review.

Waste of money, very disappointing
May 2021 • Couples
My wife and I went to the spa for the evening Sanctuary Spa session between 7:30 and 9:00pm. We were very disappointed. Only the salt pool was heated to a comfortable temperature, the steam room was cold, the sauna had no steam, I didn’t even break a sweat, and the other pools were too cool to be enjoyable.
Compared to peninsula hot springs it was very poor. Over priced for the experience, but not worth it I’m unless they turn the thermostat up!

Go for the Massage
May 2021 • Friends
My friends and I booked a package for our stay in Daylesford. Staff were very accommodating considering how difficult it was to get a booking even though we booked a few months in advance. We had platters at the cafe then an hour and a half in the Sanctuary and an hour long full body massage. I felt that it really wasn't worth the money we paid. The massage was incredible and I would highly recommend that to everyone. My masseuse was very good and that whole experience was great. The bath house was way too crowded. Ive read other reviews that say the same and seen the responses from staff that say they have strict limits on numbers of people, but every bath we sat in was overcrowded and the people in their with us clearly didn't understand that relaxation means less noise. The change rooms were not great, there were used bandaids on the floor of the shower cubicle I used and the shower screen was broken which meant there was water everywhere. And there's no bench in the cubicle which meant your stuff had to sit in the water. Also each locker has to be locked and opened by a staff member which was just inconvenient. I would only go back for the massage.

Price does not pay off and just a public pool
Apr 2021 • Family
The photos do not look like the place. Way too crowded with children which made the experience not pleasing. The mineral pools are basically just public pools, so instead of paying 100$ it would be better to just go to a local heated pool.

Hi Tess, we're sorry to hear you felt the venue was crowded. We have strict numbers in place to ensure guests have an amazing experience and there are no more than 10 guests allowed each 30min interval for both the Bathhouse & Sanctuary. This being said, the school holiday period can be a busier time in general. Our Mineral Relaxation Pool is all about the high concentration of natural mineral water know to the region. The pools are amazing to relax in and 'take the waters'. I apologise if the benefits of mineral bathing was not explained to you and we will naturally review this with our team. Thanks kindly for your feedback as we do take this seriously and your time and effort is sincerely valued in leaving a review. Thanks Mark

Relaxing day out
Apr 2021 • Friends
My mum and I booked to share the mudbath experience. There was a problem with the tap but Jen was super friendly and helpful and found us another bath. We left feeling very relaxed. Also we are glad we booked the sanctuary bathing option just to have the choice on hot baths and steamrooms. We felt the outdoor spa bath and cold plunge pool the best. A mark of a good experience is the feeling you leave with and we left relaxed, refreshed and well lathered from the Moroccan oil from the mud bath experience.

Private spa experience not worth cost
Apr 2021
We booked a 45 minute private bath experience. Towels and robes are included in this price. The venue is tired looking throughout and we didn't feel that the shared facilities were particularly clean. The private bath tub is in a cubicle off a shared corridor and we could hear our neighbours' conversation. There were LOTS of mosquitos inside the room that made the whole experience very uncomfortable. The water was nice initially but the insulation of the bath and the lack of ventilation means that the heat becomes quite overwhelming (though you can adjust the water temperature). We would not recommend this experience to our friends or family. We were glad we didn't pay for access to the shared baths as they were packed including with kids.

AVOID!!! BOOK ELSEWHERE!
Mar 2021 • Friends
I booked my two friends and I in for the Sanctuary bathing, followed by the Moroccan Remedy Massage. Originally I booked in January for 12 Feb. When booking then there was no mention that there were male massage therapists. I ended up having to reschedule to March after my friend injured herself and when changing the dates I was asked if we were happy to have male massage therapists. I told the lady NO (I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable with that and I didn’t think my friends would be either) and was told “that’s ok, I’ve given you all female ones”.

On the day we were all really looking forward to our afternoon of relaxation. The handful of bathing pools there were ok. $99 is an absolute rip off though. If I compare it to the Peninsula Hot Springs, which costs between $30-$65 for a beautiful atmosphere, lots of different pools, steam room, ice room etc it totally pales in comparison.

While waiting for our massage therapists in the relaxation room there were lots of mosquitoes, which made it very hard to relax!

My main problem was that when it came to the massages I got a male! In hindsight I should have spoken up and told them of their mistake as soon as he came out. I didn’t want to cause a scene, so I just kept my mouth shut. I was totally uncomfortable and tense for the whole massage and just kept wanting it to be over. $189 absolutely wasted! When I politely complained afterwards I was told that there was nothing in the notes that said we didn’t want male massage therapists and that the lady who took my booking should have put it in the notes. He then called the manager and I explained it to her. They were very apologetic and I was offered a voucher for another massage (my friends both really enjoyed their massage) and was told that they would email it to me. That was 11 days ago and no email from them! I am angry at myself the most - for not speaking up when a male massage therapist walked out and then afterwards when I should have demanded a refund. I certainly didn’t have the relaxing afternoon I’d been dreaming about for months!
