Was a pretty park with ducks and viewing platform. Had fun pottering along the bank on opposite side of river trying to spot a platypus. Think I might have seen one but only for a second. Was fun looking.

Please be aware - there is Platypus Park in Atherton, with an old railway carriage and cafe on the Atherton - Herberton Rd. Great for viewing ducks in the water hole. The other is Platypus Park at Tarzali - on the Malanda - Millaa Millaa...More

We walked to the large pond on the estate to discover a number of platypus swimming and feeding in the lily bed. It was a lovely experience and felt very lucky to see the creatures in the wild. I would have liked to see one...More

We seen this place on the Atherton Guides and maps and it said guaranteed to see Platypus. We paid the $17 and the two of us headed off with a tour guide. The guide was talking on the way to the viewing area and we...More

We visited here in the hope of seeing a platypus. We had a quick talk over the rules and got some info on spotting a platypus. It costs $6 per person to view the platypus; presumably because it is on private land. There is a...More

Stopped here on our way to Milla Milla falls (amazing btw) and decided to pay the $6 to see some platypus. Didn't see anything but the man and woman running the place were pleasant enough to make the stop not too bad

Nice location overlooking Platypus park which has mostly ducks and chickens. The best location to spy platypus is in Yungaburra in Peterson creek or even Lakeside. The service at the cafe is pleasant and friendly, the coffee was hot and good, the food was a...More

My wife and I really enjoy wildlife and native animals of the countries we visit. Nothing more rare than to see a platypus. In fact quite a few Australians I met said they have never seen one and for good reason, these little guys are...More

This was very disppointing. Only positive is that it was cheap. Really thought that we were going to see some platapus in the wild. Instead we got to see their backs while they swam away. Coffee was really bad.

So there are 2 main things that visitors can do here. Go platypus sighting or fishing. Wanting something different from the usual sightseeing and shopping we decided on fishing as an activity to pass a morning. Perhaps it was beginners luck or perhaps it was...More
