I tackled Mount Baldy without researching it expecting it to be an easy hike but I was wrong! It is roughly 4km return with the first half uphill almost the entire way and classified as "strenuous" on all the hiking websites. I puffed and I...More

It's a reasonably tough trek to get to the top, but a spectacular view of the Tablelands once you make it (and along the way)! One of the rare walks that you get to take you dog with you too!

We definitely underestimated the beauty of this drive. We met some great people working at the little lodges. There is even a campground. We can’t wait to travel across the country again to come back and spend a few days exploring.

The walk up Mt Baldy was testing but doable if you had frequent stops. The best part was the track from here off to Mt Yabi which was a delightful stroll through the rain forest and downhill to the car park. About 7 km in...More

Make sure you there are clear sky's to be rewarded with the views before you attempt to make it to the summit. Not as appealing the 2nd time around unless you are a fitness enthusiast. Bring plenty of water. Would not journey up a 3rd...More

Really enjoy this walk. Its got areas that are testing for less than fit people, but I think most people could conquer it. The views are quite lovely and its very peaceful and a bit "serene" up the top. We love it and do it...More

Fantastic hike up the mountain, most very well landscaped and steps leading up. Under a little construction and not for the faint hearted, the walk seems to go forever. With many photo worthy views on the way up you will be well pleased with the...More

This walk will take around two hours up and back from the carpark, and is mostly quite steep. There is a well worn track and good signposts with precast concrete steps in the steepest parts. After a short walk through the forest, the track heads...More

Small signs showing access route but it is near the gun club, great view when you get to the top, wear good shoes and take extra water, popular with all sorts. Will embark up again.

This is a popular walking track on the outskirts of Atherton. It's a reasonably challenging walk, about 30 minutes to the top for the fit ones, or more like 50mins for me. Dogs are allowed, technically on leash, but no-one does. The view from the...More

Yes, they are, but if you do the walk through to mount yabi/ the widowmaker, you might want to put them on a lead for parts so they don't chase the rainforest fauna
