My wife and I arranged a days fishing with Mark and were not disappointed, Mark was easy going and seemed to adjust his guidance based on our limited skillsets. We managed to catch several target species and I caught my very first Cooktown Barra. This...More

My husband and I went on a half day trip with Mark which is about 4 hrs. We spent the first 2 hours watching him trying to catch the bait. (Bait was to be supplied) This meant we could not go right up the river...More

We were disappointed in the charter too Beryl, but for different reasons to you. Alarms bells rang as soon as you stepped on the boat and your husband announced he was a professional fisherman. A half day charter is 4.5 hours, not 4, your charter...More

You don't mention what time you need to be back. However,I'd recommend that you email Gone Fishing Cooktown and ask them about a half day afternoon fishing.Fishing in the river is an option if time limits ocean fishing.
