We have visited the falls 3 times now and love it here. It is so relaxing with good walks and lots of birds. Watch out for snakes. Each time we have done the walk to the look-out we have spotted nasty snakes so take care. The toilets are drop ones, but clean. There is a cold shower for those without... More

We went up to Jourama Falls just over a week ago when we were driving from Townsville to Cairns. The hike was not challenging which was fine but we had some great views, stretched our legs and got some fresh air. There are some nice rock pools by the falls with a surprising number of people in them, just when... More

Have been to Jourama a few times and I'm yet to see it at its best. The falls are quite a way in (1-2km) over fairly walking paths but they are up and down a lot. There is a point where the track crosses the creek - and there are some nice swimming pools here - but access to the... More

This is an easily accessible area with an excellent camping ground. We just did an afternoon and it was so beautiful. The walk to the junction of the rock pools and lookout track was really beautiful with a variety of habitats. Being winter and with little rain I didn't think the extra hike to the viewing platform was worth it... More

Very cool spot, make sure to byo water. Places to swim. I would say I'm moderately fit, took me about 15mins to get to the lookout, pretty steep but well worth the walk. The park is well paved too so a good walk for everyone.

Dropped off at Jourama on my way to Carins, what a great spot for a swim and picnic. Only 4K from the highway there is an easy walking track to the pools below the falls which were great for a dip. Cool but then it was the middle of winter. The walk up to the viewing point for the falls... More

These falls are quite accessible by car. I made the detour completely unexpectedly and had to walk quickly to make it to the falls before the sun was going down. I'm so glad I did stop, the view is amazing! Just wish I had arrived a few hours earlier so I could enjoy the area more.

These falls are quite accessible by road. The path leading to them is very well constructed with enough up and down (600 metres up at the end) to make it very interesting as it passes across the very pretty clear running creek. The waterholes were very tempting.

Valley of the dinosaurs!!!! Worth taking the detour. Don't miss out on visiting this spot. Great picnic location for families or for a romantic adventure. Lots of fauna to spot from platypus to scrub turkeys. The water is always fresh and icy. Great for hiking and climbing through.

My husband and I hiked to the falls at 9:30am. It was a battle with mozzies and sand flies from the start. We used a repellent gel that we bought at BCF outdoor store with deet. The bugs were around us but we didn't get bit. The hike is 3km return and isn't too challenging although there is an incline.... More
