Unfortunately Captain's Paddock has been closed for some time now. It was an excellent venue for lunch and wine tasting. The chocolate sticky date pudding that Peter served was 'to die for'.

Thanks Peter & Maryanne for another fine dining experience yesterday! So glad Chicken Kashmiri is back on the monthly specials - yesterday's was the best yet! You know how much I love the satay chicken wrap, but yet again, you've managed to convert me to...More

I've lunched at Captains Paddock twice this month and each time have experienced great service, delicious meals and wine, possibly the best coffee in Kingaroy and a lovely ambience. I usually order from the special's menu, only because they invariably sound so tempting and are...More

Once again we spent our (more often than not) usual Sunday lunch at Captains Paddock with good friends. And once again it was a fabulous experience, and not just because the Chicken Kashmiri was back on the menu. I love it when I walk in...More

Hi Bill Thank you for your review. It is always rewarding when our food and hospitality is appreciated. We are very lucky to have such strong local custom and are grateful when you take the time to acknowledge it. It's also pleasing that 50 other...More

I don't usually review food, but I'm making an exception here. This was the worst place I have ever eaten at and I'm usually pretty easy going with food. In addition to that the service we received from the lady who owns/runs this place was...More

Hi Kylie I was upset to read your review, as we pride ourselves on respecting and valuing every guest at Captain's Paddock: tourists and local alike. This was obviously not your experience, for which I sincerely apologise. We have served over 300 platters in 2013...More

Every weekend, if we can, as a family we have Sunday lunch here! Peter and Maryanne are amazing hosts! They successfully converted out 17 year old from Nachos to Thai Green Curry! Merlot and zelda the winery dogs are everybody's friends!

We only stopped by for morning tea and to buy some wine. The coffee and scones were very good. The shiraz jelly that came with the scones was delicious. The winery and café are in a very picturesque setting. Checked out the accommodation and it...More

This is a delightful find. A vinyard and cafe which would be at home in Tuscany; only it is nestled on the Booie Range, very perivate but with expansive views, a few kilometres from Kingaroy. The location is superb, the cafe small, unpretentious, and very...More

The charm of this place starts when driving in. The tree lined road with the vineyard on either side is serene. The cellar door feels like you are in Italy with its red stone work and crawling vines. The owners are a perfect fit-welcoming and...More
